I feel like I don't have much to contribute...

Would it help to bring a folding plastic table?

Hoping to get there after work on Friday.

A man down the road has a pop-up camper for sale. I've never had one, or any camper. All I know at this point is the thing does not leak, and with this rain it will show if that's true when I go look at it in the morning. I thought it would be handy to have for this sort of thing and it is cheap enough that I won't feel like I have to use it all the time (which I wouldn't as camping is not my thing). Anyone know anything about pop-ups and what do I need to look for as far as potential problem areas.

Back in '93, my wife & I went TOO the boat & rv show in Columbus. We bought a Jayco pop up. I swore we used it every weekend it seemed. You're not saying what make or year. When I was looking for the camper I just bought, I was always seeing them in craigslist. I even saw a few that were just like we had, same year & all. The only mechanical thing about them is the crank system. I never had a problem with ours. I'd go far enough to say I slept better in that thing than our bed inside the house. The only thing I don't like about a pop up is setting it up & taking it down when it's really hot out, but that isn't gonna be an issue for you it sounds. We never had any issues with it & they're easy to tow. A lot of guys use then for deer camps, as we know, so it sounds like it'll be a good deal for ya.

Thanks, Kevin. This thing is a "Skamper 210c". He didn't know what year it was and said he'd look at the paper work to find out. He only wants 800 for the thing... I think I've spent more than that on a good night out back in the day.:) I'll get a better look at it tomorrow morning. I don't need something to work on, I HATE to work on crap, but if it's functional enough for a couple of weekend hunting trips a year, I'm game.

The main things I would look at are the cables on the 4 corners that make it go up and down (inspect them when it is up), make sure it has a solid floor, and that everything works like all your electric plugs and lights. Good luck with it!

Bringing this back to the top.

There is a local donation place for deer about 30 minutes from camp. Wood Road Smokehouse is located at 8745 Wood Road, Albany, OH 45710. Their number is (740) 698-7086. I can drive a load of deer over there Saturday night and midday Sunday if that is what we want to do. I called them last year, but I don't remember the specifics, so I'll call again to get those.

Please bring me $5-10 bucks to help cover the group camp area. If every one does that, we will easily cover it and anything that is left will go in the TOO kitty for the next time around. I'd rather have cash money, but you can PayPal me if you'd like. And yes J, I'll have a card swipe'r TOO! lmao

Thanks, Chris. I just looked at it and told him I'd buy it. 600 bucks, cheap enough to fix whatever is wrong with it if anything. I'll put tires on it and drag it to Strouds this weekend I think. If I hate the thing I'm not out much...

If I hate it enough, we'll have a big bonfire. :) My dad told me horror stories about staying in my uncle's old pop up while deer hunting back in the 60's. He'd never been so cold, wet and miserable. I figured he was just a wimp. :)

I'll bring down a fryer too. I'm also going to bring along some deer cutting gear, just in case the eating and drinking stops long enough for some hunting and killing to take place...it could happen.

I will be bringing my butcher table down. I may have a surprise on the food side, just want to make sure before I go getting people's hopes up.

I will also have plenty of knives and Lansky sharpener.

I will have knives and some plastic to cover tables with and an electric sharpener.

I may have a surprise as well but depends on my work week.

I will have a hobo pie pan and some bread and filling.
