You can look at it with your naked eyes during totality. You won’t see anything through your helmet in totality.

If you are in the path of totality, it will go against everything you have ever known for as long as you have been on the top side of the dirt. I think even though we all know it is coming, it will freak you out when it happens. I can't image what ancient civilizations thought when mid-day...

As a teenager I spent quite a bit of time in the Egypt Valley area. When the walleye or sauger were running, the CR-100 bridge across the very south end of the lake was always packed with people. May be worth a look if this is the correct time of year?
