A buck will shed antlers early if he is in poor health. Wounds from cars or hunters can cause it or rut exhaustion. I’ve seen skinny bucks accidentally shot as a doe during muzzy season. They had no body fat and no antlers.

In my experience one hunt, two tops then you need to let it rest for many days if not weeks. A good cold front can change that but I’m in the south part of the state. Erie area is probably much better.

Bury them for apple tree fertilizer

If you kill a deer that had EHD but survived, you might see evidence of it in damaged hooves. EHD killed a lot of deer around the mines in Vinton/Meigs about 20 years ago. I found dozens of dead deer in my duck spots back then.

I like it. At least for the shirt. Climb mountains chasing elk and you might strip off layers down to the base and put them back on more than once during a day.

Sometime in the last 5-10 years there was a bear in Milford. Several sightings over several days then he was gone.
