The Future of Hunting in Ohio

Isn't that what the law is now? You contact the neighbors and ask for permission. So if someone says "no, I dont want anyone back there" - you are stating we should be able to retrieve the deer regardless of the landowner's choice, correct? I want to make sure I understand your angle so I can...

The Future of Hunting in Ohio

I just dont think it is that common of an issue, especially with today's technology aiding in recovery. If this is happening often to someone, I think it is more likely the hunter/property layout or bad neighbor relationships - not the state's responsibility. I think we have enough areas of...

The Future of Hunting in Ohio

The state owns the deer, but they dont own the property or the hunter's decision. It is the hunter's responsibility to know the neighborhood and whether and where they are allowed to track. Now, I think it's a jerk move to not allow someone to track a deer. However, a blanket statement like...

    Curran’s 25-26 Season

My buddy's mom in HS would cut it up and deep-fry it into dark meat nuggets. A bunch of teenage boys couldn't get enough of it. I have had guys tell me I am crazy when I said it was GREAT (at least the way Mrs. D made it!).

    Clint McCoy on Huntr podcast

The baiting ban - not reducing harvest was a huge one. I believe there was also state data (maybe another state) that showed crossbows being heavily regulated, total harvest didn’t slow but did shift more back to firearms.

    Clint McCoy on Huntr podcast

I have never liked the idea of going against the NR. Heck, one of my best buddies is from PA, and we have a ball hunting together. However, that is my microscopic bias on the subject. At the State level, it is clearly an issue. Not to mention, there is a massive growing industry of guys paying...

    Clint McCoy on Huntr podcast

That was very telling. I was shocked by that as well.

    Clint McCoy on Huntr podcast

I enjoyed this podcast. I think it highlights some major complexities the state deals with, most specifically the variability hunter expectations.

No Till Food Plots - So Easy

Grandpap was 87 here and still is a fantastic memory for me. And every bit of the man I still try to live up to today. Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to donate several acres worth of Vitalize Seed to an organization out of Missouri that helps elderly individuals who can no longer...

No Till Food Plots - So Easy

Merry Christmas! A life without grief would produce love without meaning. Hug, kiss, and tell your loved ones you truly love them. Please enjoy this Christmas with your friends and families. Food plots, cover crops, gardens, and fields will be ready for us again this spring. For the next few...

No Till Food Plots - So Easy

Running Vitalize is a true blessing - the reason?! The friends we had made along the way. Mr. Tim has been a customer from day 1. He is a massive supporter and friend as well. I couldn’t be more thankful to have him as a customer but more so, as a friend. Congratulations on an absolute Ohio...

No Till Food Plots - So Easy

Couple other trees added between plots and/next to them. Should have a lot of mast in a few years. I always bring the saw with me and take a min or two to cut junk around where I plant. That’ll feed deer and open canopy for the trees.

No Till Food Plots - So Easy

One of my favorite things to do for my plots 1. Edge feather 2. Plant soft mast (pears and apples). This plot now has 8 pear and apples around it. I always put them where they are off the field - so not to reduce plantable acres.

    2025 EHD?

That is insane! That comes out to 68 dpsm, with 80% antlerless. Assuming 25% of the anterless is BB, that puts you at 40.8 does and doe fawns psm. I am guessing they wont be harvesting large numbers of does this late in the season (although that might be a bad assumption). They likely would...
