Well sure seems like this came back around fast.I may not have as much time as last year but pretty much finished deer hunting so am starting a little earlier than last season.
Right now I am just going to concentrate on the family farm, went out today and saw several tracks in the mud along trails and had a pic on a cam I put out over a deer carcass, also saw some fresh buck rubs while out.
I set 20 snares today and will just go with that for awhile till I slow down at work after the first of the year.I have a 300 acre farm a buddy wants me to snare but will see if I can squeeze it in later on if not might have to teach him how.
So here we go hope to catch a few this year,I would like to get 14 that would put my snaring total at 100 catches since I started snaring.
Tried to post some pics but they won't go so will try to post them later.
Pics were a yote. Some tracks a few snare sets and fresh rubs.

Don and Rick u know your welcome anytime.
Zach if you set them the right height you should be fine, the main thing I have learned is to make sure their are no limbs or anything else above the snare that would cause a deer to duck their head. But if you would catch one your in for a fun time letting it go.lol

No yotes yet and no fresh tracks.Caught several females last winter so might not be many here or they just havnt made it back here on their hunting rounds.
Hopefully when they show up I will get a few.

Still no yotes or fresh tracks In the area.I am so darn busy at work now I shut them all down except 5 I can check quick behind the barn.
Think I am going to get a bunch set but leave them closed up till we get some cold weather and they start breeding in Jan and Feb.
I think I might also have put a dent in them last few years and it is starting to show as I have only a couple pics this yr and not hearing any barking at all during our times out bowhunting this season, but that is a good thing. Will still stay on top of them though cause they can rebound fast.

Caught a big male today, second biggest one I have ever caught. My biggest was 58 lbs several yrs ago and this guy came in at 54 lbs. Most seem to average betweene 35 and 45 lbs.
No more deer eating for this one.
He was wrapped around a tree and dead just the way I like to see them.
Only have 6 snares out right now but will get more out next month.
