I saw the picture first then read your post and when I first saw the yotes leg lifted in the air I thought it looke smaller but thought it might of been the angle then read your post and realized it was damaged.... That super bowl arm wrestling commercial came too mind about that time lol....

Caught 3 more coons today and released them.
The one in the pic decided instead of of running to the big woods all around him he would run up under the back of the gator, you can see his tail hanging down i, the pic.lol
I grabbed hold of his tail and tried to pull him out real quick but he was hanging on to tight.
He rode around under there while i was pulling up snares, had to lift the back up to get him to run out.
Like i told Dick,never a dull moment.
Got everything pulled but 8 and will leave them out a few more days and wrap it up.

Caught a pretty little female red fox today and released her.
I like it when they jump through the snare and get caught in front of the back legs as it makes it alot easier to turn them loose once you get the catch pole on them.
All the fox have been different ones as they all have distinguishing markings usually on their tails or face. This one had alot of white on the tip of its tail.
Going to try and get my last 7 snares pulled by thursday and wrap it up.
Seems like their are more fox than yotes on this farm now and thats not a bad thing.

Awesome stuff Brian! I was hoping you'd have a pretty red like her on a snare so Karissa could see one up close. I'll show this to her though.
What a great year you had!

How long can you run snares? Are you allowed to install a kill pole or do you just not have to worry about entanglement?

You can snare yotes year round but any other catches besides yotes you have to set free when not in season.
You can use kill poles but I wouldn't use them after coon and fox season has ended and I try not to set them where they get wrapped up after season so as not to kill fox or coon.

Well wrapped up on snaring the yotes again and had alot of fun and got to have several friends ride along with me.
I ended up breaking 100 for my all time catches and for not going very hard after them this yr still was able to take quite a few more out. From last jan till now about 5 months total i took 57 yotes out.
I think the good thing is i have been seeing and catching lots of red fox so i would like to think it is helping.
Also snared the first beaver off of our farm since they have moved in the last few years which was pretty cool.
The best fun i had was when Rick brought Braydon over and also when Ric brought Karissa up and we caught yotes both times.
Sure was fun to see the excitement they showed being that close to a wild yote.
Some pics from my snaring.

I am going to have the beaver and the big male red fox in the pic tanned, also going to have a couple of the yotes tanned.
