Dead Head - euro mount help

The hair bleach paste to me is by far the best way to go. Forgot to mention though that you need a sealant to apply once its finished to stop yellowing over time. I use mop and glow. It works as a sealant with a medium shine, can be washed off if you ever need to do a touch up and reapply bleach, and lastly leaves the skull with a pleasant odor. Again not saying you have to do it that way. It just works for me.

Well - very happy with how the boiling went today. I tried to simmer it and the head seems to have come really really clean. I am going to bleach it in a few days when the hair bleach/powder comes in, the head is clean as heck now. I have it soaking in water as I have heard its good to keep it moist - any thoughts on this?

mop and glo - the floor cleaner? How do you apply it, paint it on?
Yes sir the floor cleaner. Use a paint brush and apply 4 or 5 coats. Doesn't take much at all to cover the skull. Just apply one coat and let it dry then repeat. As far as keeping it water personally I would pull it out. Keeping it in water like that can cause the skull to get really soft and brittle as well as making the teeth fall out . Again I'm not a pro that's just my experience. Also a light tone of wood stain could really bring some life back in to those horns if you so desire as well as sanding the horns if they have been chewed any. It's all up to you. Good luck and I hope it you can get it nice and white. If it doesn't lighten up how you want it you could possibly try another simmer with a strong peroxide solution. Last resort man you can go with a really light coat of paint.......last resort. On a final note when you are finished go ahead and run you a bead of super glue gel along the teeth and tack the nose piece just for stability.

Well I have to leave today for a business trip so I am going to pull the head out of the water and let it dry for a couple days. I am planning to be able to paint the head with the bleach around Wednesday/Thursday of this week.
