I have lived in Ohio for my whole life and have yet to tap into it's hunting scene until now. I'm looking for any advice anyone has to offer regarding hunting public lands and location advice for turkey and/or deer. I cannot wait to harvest my first turkey this spring!

If your are located in central Ohio like avatar indicates then you are fairly close (within an hour) of several great state land options. Turkey hunting is a very difficult hunt for a beginner with no experience, is best to probably study calling on youtube like giles has given you and read up on as much as possible. Several really good turkey hunters on this site not including me.

Podcast are another great place to learn. Listen to those commuting to work, showering, or whenever else you don’t need to be reading to learn.

Btw, don’t ask me anything about turkey hunting, I prefer mine to be delivered by my wife...frozen...to be eaten once a year.

I have some experience hunting small game but no turkey or big game experience. I have a box call and a diaphragm call that I have been working on!

I'm located in Columbus but am willing to travel.
Right south of you in Athens is some great turkey hunting, Strouds Run state park is really good. Stick around the turkey hunting talk is really gonna start heating up here over the next couple weeks.
