Silicone Rings

Anyone else have one? I just got a Groove ring the other day and so far I really like it. I had stopped wearing my traditional gold wedding ring about a year or so ago. I was only 22 when I bought it and my finger had outgrown it. I also hated wearing it when shooting pistols or a gun with a nice wood stock, for fear of scratching up something unnecessarily. Just kinda got annoyed with the "clangy" nature of it. This silicone ring feels more comfortable and I like the fact that getting it caught on something probably won't result in my finger getting torn off or mangled.

I wear a camo one when I'm doing man things and wear my silver one that's modeled after a duck band when I'm "dressed up". My only beef with silicone is my finger will sweat, so I always take my ring off to sleep so it dries out.

I've always thought those duck band styled rings were pretty bad ass. I would probably do the same if I had one.

I think the gimmick of these groove rings (the groove on the underside allows better air flow) is probably nothing more than marketing BS, but, that being said... I haven't noticed any sweating or skin pruning underneath this ring. Not yet at least.

My wife got me one for Xmas a few years ago b/c the company I was with at the time wouldn't allow us to wear rings b/c of machinery. I liked it although I had the same issue as Jesse with sweat. Id put it on before going into work and take it off once I got in the truck. I haven't had to wear it for a while now that I'm at the new job but I do still put it on when I go hunting for the same reason you mentioned above, the chance of it tearing before my finger does.

Qalo also sells some I believe. I still wear my metal band. On my second or third one in 18yrs. It is a pretty Stout one but I've found it's limits. First time was a couple weeks after our honeymoon. Just about ripped my finger off on that one. Still wear it. Guess I'm not a fast learner. Just can't bring myself to wear a different one.

Mine is a Qalo.

Like I told Tracie after wearing my first one for a few years, it's just a symbol and I don't like the one I have any more. She understood, so she bought me the duck band style one for our 5 year anniversary.

Same. I had to have mine cut off in two pieces and then put back together. That was when I had that pinned mallet finger get infected with staph.

Thanks for starting this thread Jim.
I don't wear my wedding ring and although she accepts it, my wife hates it.
When I was young I was "scared straight" by all the safety videos of people getting their shit torn off. And I just hate the feel of jewelry anyway.

So I goes on Amazon, and two days later my silicone ring is here. Gotta say, doesn't even feel like I got anything on.
I don't necessarily like the look of this plain black band, but now that I know I can tolerate it, I'll look for something that fits my fashion a little better.
Now I just gotta figger out what my fashion is.

I have the same issues, thanks for posting, maybe I’ll try one out.

How about brands?

How do these hold up to fuel and oil?

Doing a little shopping it seems to vary for prices by brand, but they all seem the same. Not sure on quality between price on this product.

I have a Qualo as well, lost my actual wedding ring about a month after we got married and have worn these ever since. Giles, they hold up fine to gas/oil etc. In my experience. I've only broke one and that was just because I constantly fiddle with it. I only wear it on date nights now.

I’ve had an Enso ring for a few weeks now. I really like it so far. like others have said you can’t tell your even wearing one.
