I leave this afternoon for a Veterans turkey hunt. Its being put on by the Ohio Veterans Outdoors. A guy named Brian Luce called me and asked if Id like to join. Hell yeah I wanna go. He sent a group text the other day and gave us the address, looks to be a private residence, so Im not sure if we are hunting their property or not. We were supposed to be staying in campers but they fell through so now we will be sleeping on cots in a barn. I haven't slept on a cot since my last deployment in 06 - 07. Should be interesting. Ill be hitting up Bass Pro this afternoon before I go for some bug spray, and tick repellant. Ive also got to pick up some shells, I need to pattern my shot gun once I get there. They are providing everything. License if you don't have it, tags if you don't have them, food and beer. I asked if I needed to bring any beer, he said no, they will have some. They aren't sure yet if Ill be in a blind or runnin and gunnin. Depends on the guide apparently. Ill try and update this as we go along, but Im not sure how my service will be out there.

That gravity shit has taken over as the years go on lol....

Stopped at bass pro, got shells, vest, mask, fishing line and some sawyers. Got Remington nitro 3.5" #5 and Winchester long beard xr 3" #6 bc they were out of #5. Damn near bought another rod and a reel, made the wise decision to just walk away. I'm hitting the road now. I'll post as I can. Thanks brothers

From what I've seen they are the best turkey shell out right now, given you have the correct set up. I've seen videos of them damn near blowing turkeys heads off at 30-35 yards lol.

If all the turkeys I've seen shot until this year, I've never seen one not flop a little. The two I've seen shot with those things this year never wiggles a feather. Both were shot at about 30 yards, graveyard dead. I thought I might have missed the second one as he just disappeared in the tall grass. They are nasty.
