Around here, Lima area, it's rare to get a shot past 250 yards. I'm shooting a Savage Axis XP in .22-250 that I have dialed in up to 400 yards with my 55gr. Hornady V-Max reloads @ 3500 fps. So far, my longest shot has been with a Savage 11VF .243 with a 75gr. V-Max @ 3300 fps, at 190 yards.

What was your longest shot?
What rifle?
What ammo?

Good hunting, Bowhunter57

Smith and Wesson model 1500 in 300 win mag
185 grains of AccuBond
Perfect conditions, coyote sitting in the wide open, no wind, colder then TC’s heart. Just perfect

It was something stupid, like -40*. I had the gun on bi-pods and in the prone position. Gun did all the work and collapse that dog as it passed through his head. My most memorable shot, next to my first deer.

At first I thought I missed as he didn’t budge...then the bullet got there. I used to shoot that gun at 600 yards almost weekly, but the excitement of a live target made it seem like it took forever for the bullet to get there.

Remington 1187, 3" #6 hevi - shot 30 yds

Have a deer carcus currently staked down at 100 yds with my driveway alarm on it and patiently waiting with .223 loaded with 55 grain. Will report back after we get to whack one....
