We made it to the campgrounds this time, camping at Seneca lake campgrounds on the marina side, everything went smooth for setting up the first time, nice and quiet, it will be nice to just relax for the weekend and enjoy ourselves!

Glad to hear it Tad. Hope you don't see the rain we have had on the west side of the state the last couple hours.

Yep, my daughter Erin is getting married tomorrow. She and Nick make a great couple. Two peas in a pod, as such. It will be a great time and I wish them a life of happiness!

All my work contracts are about complete, and for the first time this year I will finally get out to do some scouting and stand checking this weekend. Better late then never.

Received a $1,200 overage check in the mail from my bank. Apparently they over estimated property taxes when I bought by house this winter. My house payment got reduced about $150 a month. That right there, was a blessing from God.

Good stuff Seth. Usually works the other way where they want more money. haha

Congrats to Erin and Nick. I hope your soon to be son in law is a hardcore hunter or he is going to feel left out at family gatherings. I cannot imagine my little girl getting married. I am just dreading the rapidly progressing puberty and wishing it will slow down.

I have an older tree stand that is still a good stand but from day one the seat has been horrible. I would use it anyway but those long sits were a challenge. So I decided to try to redo it. There is an upholstery shop on the way home so I stopped by last week and talked to the old guy that does the work. 78 years old and still doing upholstery work, 95% seats off of tractors, golf carts, pick up seats and the like. He sold me an old golf cart seat foam pad, which was perfectly fine just the owner wanted something else, for $1.00 and a piece of waterproof canvas for $10.00. He said "what's this for?" I told him about redoing a tree stand seat and he proceeded to tell me stories of his deer hunting years when he was a "young whippersnapper" and it was a challenge to get away. But I enjoyed his stories a lot and told him I had to go and he said "ok, $11.00 will make us even" I handed him $15.00 and told him" keep the change, the stories were worth a lot more than $4.00". He smiled and told me " you get ready to redo another tree stand seat, you bring the seat to me and I will do it on the house while you tell me a couple of your hunting stories". To put it mildly, a pretty awesome old deer hunter.
