Just got done road scouting and liked what I saw. Also made a phone call on 35 acres of strategically picked ground that wen well. Hope to have a "Yes" later this evening. I've scouted the entire 2,000 acre area this property is part of either from the road or with maps, and the best piece of ground I have is part of this area. I have little doubt it is a prime piece to have. Hope this was time better spent instead of hunting.

Tell my wife i love her and I am sorry if anything happens to me tonight. After listening to 15min of bellyaching about all the hunting I have been doing my last words to her were: "15 min of repeating the same complaint isn't accomplishing anything. Keep bitching. I am going hunting." Got in late and made a horrible rocket doing so. Busted a mature doe rounding the corner. Close to the farm house so hopefully no worries. In my climber overlooking a creek woods and picked corn. Dynamite spot and the wind is perfect. Even a marginal buck might die tonight to avoid my wife killing me.

Klay was at full draw on nanny. 25 yards. She turned too much then baby stepped in way.
Had to let down. She came in to 20 yards but couldn't get drawn. Put head down. Tried to draw and she busted him.
Damn!

Aaaaahh man! Good lesson for the little guy, because when he releases that arrow and is smiling in the harvest picture, you will know that he felt he earned it. Not much better in the world than knowing you earned something. Good luck Klay!

Well shit, where do I start.... a 1/2 hr after I last posted, I looked thru the woods TOO where I was this morning & a nice size doe was feeding. @ 530, I called my wife back at the house & told her to go get some chinese. I figued I'd be back at the house with a bloody bolt by the time she got back, but no. Just squirrels. At 630, I could hear comotion down below the rise which was out in front. I was quessing it was a buck meandering around from the sounds, but a doe & two fawns finally came up & cut across @ 30 yards out & went over to where I had seen the 1st doe.... naturally. I was anticipating them to cut across on a different trail 20 yards away. The house is only 90 yards away, but of course I bumped five deer that were out feeding on grass where my morning stand is. The day didn't go as planned, but THAT was fun !

I found deer. Unfortunately, it was on my way out. Didn't see anything but turkeys and squirrels on stand. Got down on the ground with climber and was buttoning it up to pack out. Something big and alone had entered the woods on the other side of the creek and boogied out. Not cool. So I start walking out and I hear another deer enter the woods across the creek and do the same. Extra not cool. So I get out of the woods and I am walking back. Long walk. Maybe 1/3 mile. Get up close to the house and barns and I see eyeballs. Great. There goes another. Then in the woods to my right another bolts. Keep walking because I had to get to the vehicle at some point and I had already blown everything out of the surrounding 3 counties. Two more jump out of the skin as I enter the lawn where they are feeding. Starting to wonder why I am hunting 1/3 mile off the road when the bastards are eating the lawn? Now I am home. So is my wife. She has been delightful.

Sorry to hear Phil but you made it humorous buddy! Needed a laugh today! Slap her on the ass and ask if she wants to fool around! Rotflmao

Hope your next hunt is better buddy! Try setting in a ground blind next to the shed or the swing set if one is present...lol

Hitting the deep woods this morning. Id say its about time for the yearly big buck sighting at the bottom of the 'horse shoe' stand.. Have rattled a shit ton of deer in and seen some monsters cruising becore out of it over the years. Silent eentrance is a huge plus, and shouldnt be a prob with the rain.

Good luck fellas
