Pretty much all I could do Ric. Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself and how botched up you made things. I think last night was just a stroke of bad timing luck.
Big congrats to Klay for getting to full draw on the nanny Mike! That is awesome man. He releases that arrow and he won't want to roll over and sleep in anymore. lol
Both boys were still buzzing this morning on the way in to school about what could've and should've been.
Time for the deer to move again. The neighbors donkey finally woke up and is going off. Covered up in deer ten minutes before I could see to shoot. Now it has slowed to nothing moving but the squirrels.
BTW the corn is down here now.

Some great recaps!! Glad the boys are getting that experience cotty16!! Those lessons are priceless when it comes to maturing as a deer hunter!! When my son Allen missed the doe last Saturday he actually had tears in his eyes as he told me the story!! I laughed and told him I couldn't remember how many deer I've missed over the years and that was part of him becoming a better hunter. He was feeling much better about himself when I said that, my buddy chimed in about all of his misses and even my daughter with her 1 miss to date. All part of making them stronger!!

There is a doe munching on the landowner's cornpile right now. She's about 230 yds away but fun to watch.
Took the dog for a walk in the backyard about 30 minutes ago, 4 does were munching on acorns in the neighbors yard and ran back onto mine. Heard grunting and they took off. The resident 2.5 year old 8 point came running up out of the gulley and was standing in the food plot. He saw us and walked back down into the woods following the does.
