Stayed home and mowed tonight. Got a text from my cousin (not JPN) that he hit a big 10 with kickers right around 5:20. Getting ready to go track. Wish us luck!

No dice.. He said he hit a limb right before it hit the buck. The deer did a 180 and sprinted off. Said he could see most of the bolt sticking out right in the ribs. Thinks he didn't get enough penetration. Gonna try and look tomorrow but we didn't find a drop of blood and it is supposed to rain...

That's for sure. I feel bad for him. That is the second big buck my cousin said has come off the property I hunt over to his property. Sounds like I better get back in there!
On the ground. In the rain. Long shot and probably a bad idea. Hoping to get an idea where to set stand by the homeowners house later today in the rain. If I get a perfect scenario I will take the shot. Compound bow kill from ground is one of my goals. We will see.

Snuck in with doe bedded at 40yds. She never spooked until metal on barn roof slapped. Even then just got up to move. No shot offered. She was downwind too. Thanks Scent Smoker.

Just had my loner doe come back. Full draw unnoticed but she didn't come all the way down into my shooting lane before meandering into woods. No clear shot and unsure if yardage I had to pass. She bedded for a few then spooked. Wasn't sure why until I saw a red fox with one of the most magnificent red coats I have ever seen trot thru.
Rain is holding off other than random sprinkle. I am staying put.
