Settled in to a sweet little spot overlooking a cut corn field with thick bedding behind me and to the north. Looking S down the field...

It's blowing 20+ right now, so I hope it lets up. I'm not sure I'd pass a doe from here!

Nestled in for about 45min now. Not too still. Not too windy. Not too hot. Not too cold. Snuck in quietly. I have a gut feeling tonight is going to be good for someone in the TOO nation! Sitting at. North end of an overgrown fence row. Small strip of woods behind me to north. Picked beans beyond it. CRP fields SW and SE on either side of fence row running south. Bigger woods to my west a hundred yds beyond crp. Standing corn couple hundred yds south of me at end of fence row and crp fields. Feels deerie tonight!

Started off with 5 does around 430. Then 4 or 5 bucks trickled in. Light sparring/chasing prob still going on around that stand. The big boy had to be there, i just ran outta light.

Flat out awesome sit. You guys know the feeling. Not a word to describe it.

Saw this buck 4 times today. Had him at 12 yards at one point. Still not sure if I can keep passing on him. He seems bigger from the tree. On trail cam he looks just like the buck I killed 2 years ago and he only scored 116.

Moon overhead at 430pm today. At 428pm I see my first deer. A doe with her two fawns from this spring. They were feeding in a food plot. Made their way towards me but just wouldn't quite commit. In bow range, but Momma was unsure what she was seeing. We had a staredown for a long long time. She finally decided she just didn't like something and turned around to leave. Took her youngsters back across the food plot and then started blowing. Weird. One would think she would have done this while under the stand. She ended up coming back thru a couple more times with similar reaction. Later saw a lone deer in behind me at roughly 50yds. She fed in the bean field all summer on a regular basis by herself. Beautiful evening. Just not what I was hoping for.

That's a nice 3.5 year old, Scott. He could blow up in another year. Good pass in my eyes.

For all you other Toozers, good luck as well!

Good luck tomorrow Seth and everyone else hitting the woods tomorrow!

Good pass Scott, first buck or two=shoot, your season is over buck hunting if you shoot and bigger ones might be around shortly. Good luck
