Good luck in the morning. I hope for the best but I'm sorry to say probably a muscle hit. Two miles is too long of a time for a liver hit. You'll find him as I'm sure with this severe cold and lose of blood will take him down.

Joel, I googled it and zoomed in on the woods where you stopped at. I believe you pulled out at a good time. He should be laying in that big woods south of where you stopped. I have to go to work today but there is a real good chance it will be cancelled. Check your PM box before you head out.

No deer guys. I was able to find the blood trail, snow hadn't messed it up. I lost it a couple times, picked it back up and ended up going across two more corn fields and back into another wood lot. Came up to a bed that was all mud and still warm with blood in it. Somehow he survived the night and must've taken off running again when I came into the woods. I had to give up at that point. I'll post a picture of the bed later.

Damn I didn't want to hear that. Sorry. Hopefully you'll get another crack at him this fall.

Damn! Any chance you could get back out later on? Bumping him back up may have opened that wound back up. Or it may just be a muscle hit.

As much as I hate to do it I think I have to let this one go. I'm not 100% sure who's property I was on and he was going even farther into the woods, I was probably trespassing but not sure. I gave it hell but I don't know what else to do. My leg is getting so bad I don't know if I could go back out there even if I knew exactly where he was. Sucks bad but I can't do anything else. I'm just going to hope he survives at this point. He lost a lot of blood but somehow made it through the night in -20 degree weather and had enough steam to get up and run this morning. I need to get focused back on work too.
