My dumbass left the deep freeze door cracked on Wednesday. We were picking up decoys this morning when the wife called. Blood all over the floor and just about everything was thawed out. Lost a good $100 in store bought food, all my deer sausage, the majority of my loin, a whole quarter, half my deer steaks and half my ground deer. Fucking pissed at myself for doing something so stupid and lazy. I always check the door, but was in a hurry and forgot to check. I guess its better than the freezer crapping itself.

Got a bunch of food to make this week!

Well this has the up and down too it lol.... Heading home in the morning and that's too good.... Talked too the wife this morning and she woke up in the middle of the night too our water bed which had sprung a leak.... Nothing bad just a little puddle which was caught by the liner which it did it's job.... So she got too deal with that a few days before I get home....
She's a very independent woman and told me she wouldn't accept any help doing it if I was too call a buddy which lives close by.... Love her too death but she really needs too tone it down lol....
Oh well it's in and full just waiting too warm up too sleeping temp....

Jesse sorry too hear about all the thawed meat.... On the bright side you've got a coyote bait pile now.....

On the bright side J, at least you know your wife doesn't let other men in your bedroom. :smiley_crocodile:

Safe travels my friend!

That sucks Jesse. I have a 20 cubic foot upright in the garage with a temp alarm. If the temp climbs above 10 decrease that alarm is holy hell loud.

I feel your pain BigSlam........couple years ago while I was away working on the rig for 3 weeks I got the call from my Mom that my deep freezer in the basement stopped working. It was a couple years old and it turns out the breaker popped that it was plugged into!!! I lost 2 deer and a huge wild boar I had in it. To make matters worse was the freaking smell of rotted meat!!! :tantrum: Prop's to my brother CJD for fighting the smell and throwing out everything. It smelled so bad I had to get rid of the freezer!!!

Since then I have bought a new deep freezer that is in the garage so we can keep an eye on it every time we walk in. Uggggggg!!!!!

Our fridge has the alarm, but like an idiot I didn't get a freezer with one. This is a 20.7 cu ft one and you'd think it should have one as it is a higher end model. I learn the hard way and this served as a hard lesson. One the positive side, the freezer is spotless and some of the stuff needed to be thrown out anyways. So it could always be worse!

I didn't read through this whole thread, so I don't know if it has been mentioned, but for those of you who have freezers or refrigerators without alarms, you can buy them. They have wifi, remote, plug in, battery types that run the gamut as far as prices and sophistication goes. Amazon and eBay both sell them.

That answered my next question. Thanks.

4th gear pinned and the fuggin wheel flew off. It started fishtailing real bad but I kept it under control and got stopped.

Glad you are okay. Been a long day for me.

Worked all morning. Soccer game for son at 3. He scored a goal. The boys played awesome. Heartbreaking 3-2 loss. Came back to drop off one kid between games. Grabbed a bite. Rushed to Tractor Supply to snag a fuel tank while on sale. Rushed to 6pm game. Boys were destroyed 7-0. Earlier in day I let a part time employee/neighbor borrow a truck. Water pumped seized up. Left him stranded. After soccer game he and I (and my sons) unloaded a trailer in a downpour so we could haul the truck. While turning the trailer around, the dovetail on the trailer just knicked the tire on my gooseneck trailer parked there when I was backing it up. It was pouring rain and dark. Stuff happens when you are tired and in a hurry. Going to cost me a water pump AND a tire now. Drove to where the truck was and neighbor had forgotten the key. Drove back to shop. Got key. Drove back. Loaded truck and hauled home. Darn near midnight and I am just catching up on TOO after printing directions to the 10am game in Fremont tomorrow. 7am wake up call is going to suck. Long weekend so far. Could always be worse. Not complaining. Just been a frustrating day. I think Daryl Worley said it best "Sounds like life to me."

Oh man that's rough! Sorry to hear that.... And I'm with ya, everything seems to blow up ten fold when your tired and in a rush to get things done.
