Oh man that's rough! Sorry to hear that.... And I'm with ya, everything seems to blow up ten fold when your tired and in a rush to get things done.

No doubt about it.

Things could always be worse. Today is a new day. Off to the rodeo I go. Well, not literally. Off to a soccer game in Fremont. Today is going to be a better day. Wife worked 3 days straight (12-14hr days), then headed out of town for Fri-Sun. She is home tonight. Soccer game 3 of 3 will be done this morning. Just another day really. Crazy busy? Yep. But not much different than anyone else I suppose. lol

The last 10 days have been rough. 2 Fridays ago my Dad was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. He stayed there until Friday morning they finally had him stable enough to ship him to Cleveland to the VA. I stayed with him Thursday night into Friday morning waiting until the squad got their while Mom and the rest of the family waited in Cleveland. As tough as it has been on us as a family, I cant imagine how tough it is for him, being taken care of all the time by others. For him to show the strength and resiliency that he has just gives me strength to deal with anything and to help my family through it too. He gets huge smiles when all of us tell stories of our past hunting and fishing excursions together. I really thankful for the VA. They stepped up with everything to help my family through this, most of it being done way in advance before we would have ever thought of it. They are thinking Dad should be home no later than Monday. I was gonna say screw hunting this weekend and head back up there, but Dad with find enough strength to kick my ass if I did. He made sure to tell my brother and I to not get jumpy at the first "decent" buck. He can talk now, but he has a forced air Bi Pap, so he just writes on a dry erase board. He told me to tell all my buddies good luck this week. So, from my Dad to all you TOOZERS, Good Luck!

that's tough to hear man... And that's exactly what my old man would do if I didn't hunt the opener. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers for a safe recovery.

I want to kick your ass Ryan. You made me get a bit teary reading it but smile at the same time. Guess I am getting to be a sap as I age. lol

Sorry to hear he is struggling. His good luck wishes and writing out advice to you for opening day put a big smile on my face. You are a good son. He will be in my prayers.

I ended up fully tearing my flexor tendon in my left ring finger. I have what they call a "mallet" finger. I was tucking my pants in my hunting boots and when I pulled my hand out, my finger tip was bend all the way down. I didn't feel any pain either. I think my longbow days are over for the year and I may or may not need surgery. Sucks for something so stupid. IMG_20140927_105222198.jpg
