That sucks you hit the deer. Airbag not going off probably saved you $1000-1500. Work trucks have hit a couple. $2700-3500 I believe were the bills at the dealer to repair. Comprehensive part of the policy covered it. Too late now, but comprehensive (fire/theft/vandalism basically) isn't horribly expensive to add if memory serves correct. Glad you were ok.
Thanks Phil! I didn't really want to get hit in the face with the airbag anyway, just thought it would of went off cause I plowed that buck hard. Edit... That didn't sound good lol
Theres a fine line where you're on the edge of insuring it too protect yourself and insuring it too protect yourself and recoup some money in cases like this.... I had full coverage on the Z71 and liability on the S10 and the Z71 was a 01 and S10 was a 2000....
Good too hear Jesse.... You only get one set of those buggers..... I've been lucky way too many times in my life when it comes too my eyes....

Didn't want to say anything last night until I knew the outcome but I shot a big buck last night and was not able to recover him.
Yesterday at about 2:50pm I sat in the blind and wasn't really expecting to see anything until after 4:00 or so. At about 3:05 out of nowhere a huge bodied buck with a wide rack popped out of the brush at about 15 yards headed toward my corn pile. He continued past the corn pile so when he was at a good angle I stopped him at 35 yards, put the crosshair on him and let an arrow go. He jumped up and spun around and took off into the woods. I texted xbowguy and told him I just shot a big one. He called and talked to me for awhile while I waited to go look for my deer.
After about 30 minutes I got out of the blind and started looking for my arrow quietly. I couldn't find it so after probably 20 minutes of that I started slowly walking in the direction he headed looking for blood. Nothing. I circled around the area for almost an hour and finally saw a maple leaf covered with dark blood. Just as I saw that I heard something so turned and saw a big wide 10 point with his neck stretched out not 20 yards away sniffing the air. He started to come closer and I crouched down to try to take a picture of him, rustled some leaves and he took off. Don't think he saw me but he didn't like something about the situation and booked.
Anyway, looked around some more for blood and could not find any and by then it was getting dark so I backed out. Got a bunch of freaking snow overnight. Not much accumulation but enough to cover any blood that might have been visible. Went out at first light and looked for about another 2 hours and was getting sick, could not find a thing. Rick (xbowguy) was nice enough to come out and help and I think we spent another 2 hours or longer looking around the woodlot, checking possible exits, walking through the corn and we were just not able to track this deer. I truly believe he went into the corn and died but without a good trail we were not able to do anything but back out. Rick, I truly do appreciate the help- you're a good dude.
I am obviously pretty bummed out as this is the second time I have shot and wounded a big buck and not able to recover him. I don't think I did anything wrong and didn't take a bad shot but I guess "shit happens". Only thing left to do is shake it off and go shoot another one.

Just had time to sit down and complain.. I had a very frustrating experience with Buckmasters. Back in Sept I signed up for the Buckmasters sweepstakes to win a all expenses paid hunting trip. Well I guess somewhere along the line I got signed up for their 5yr membership for 140$. I received the bill in the mail. I called and canceled as I was unaware I was signed up for a membership. 2 months later I got another bill. So I call again and this time they was very rude over the phone. Said I missed the deadline for canceling. I said "no I havnt received anything so I'm canceling and the account should have already been canceled " then after arguing with me they kept threatening to send me to collections. So at this point I've lost my cool and we are having a full blown argument. I was done talking to the "customer service guy" so I started asking to talk to a supervisor or upper management. He would not give the phone to anyone else. So after calling back several times trying to talk to a supervisor about canceling and how rude the first guy was I finally got ahold of a "supervisor" he was the same way, very rude and said I can't cancel. So after auguring with him for another 20min about canceling he finally agreed so I am still waiting in the mail for my conformation. The whole thing had my blood boiling. They were extremely rude. I didn't write their names on here because I don't know if their are rules against that on this forum. So other beware about Buckmasters. It was a giant headache dealing with them to say the least.

They all suck.Dealt with buckmasters yrs and yrs ago what a freakin joke that crap is.Just a bunch of rude telemarketers trying to earn their paycheck anyway they can.Stay away from all of them, bunch of bottom feeding azzholes.
