The TOO dump thread

I dont really think this is dump worthly by i have been a little disappointed how my morning duck hunt went.

its hard to tell but those are two hooded merganzers that landed in my decoys Right after i limited out. I know i shouldn't complain considering i limited out by 9 am on mallards ringnecks and blue wing teal. Thats not counting all the American widgoen and buffleheads i let fly right past me. However i have wanted a hooded merganzer drake on my wall for a long time and this is the first time i have ever seen one while hunting.
The cold weather from the north sure has the birds moving. The last three days ive hunted in the morning til noon at the latest then go home work from 3pm-11 pm and sleep from midnight til 5am. If a warm front doesnt roll in to ruin the flying ill probably be dead by thursday. Lol
Bitter sweet limit for sure.

As someone in the industry, it is hard for me to complain about this. However it has effected the quality of my hunting and it really bums me out. Back in July, they started on a seismic survey that encompassed a 100 square mile area. I have pictures and videos of Mexicans setting charges in late September and I thought they would be done before the hunting got good. I found out last week they have been on our farm at least once a week all season long. Today I found out that crews have been all over our farm the past 2 days and that they will be setting off the charges this week, then picking up their listening devices the last few days before gun season. They've been in places I haven't set foot in for 2 years. There is no doubt is has adversely effected my hunting out there and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Real kick in the gut when you work hard to limit pressure and set up sanctuaries, then a herd of dirty Mexicans parade all around your place during prime time.

Hopefully this is the last of the gas boom we have to deal with. I may facilitate it, but I don't want it to come to our county and effect our farm.

It just depends on when they are there and for what. I'd actually like to see a pipeline through our place (in the most likely spot) as it would result in some great browse and make for some good hunting. But I'd rather them do it in March than October. Same with this seismic. If they would have had their shit straight, they could have been done in September. Its not all bad, but it largely depends on timing.

Had a little run in with some stinking amish today. These fuggers hunt my neighbors 7 acres of woods every gun season. Last year I went out there opening morning and chonus was standing on the hillside with an orange hat on. Then I saw footprints in the snow all over my land. I called the neighbor, he said he would talk to them. So today the neighbor texts me at 1pm letting me know that they are out there hunting again. Seeing as how they trespassed last year I put the dog in the truck and we rode out there. I pull in and immediately see 2 guys in orange walking up my hill. I got pissed and yelled for them to stop. I then noticed drag marks through the leaves and said "what the fugg did you guys drag through my woods?". I catch up to them at the top of the hill and ask what the fugg they are doing on my land and what they drug through the woods. Chonus tells me that he shot one down by the gas well (which is on my land) and I notice they have chairs set on my land overlooking my woods 80 yards from the neighbors line. Chonus tells me he could give me some Bologna from the deer, I said no, I'll take the whole deer. Then I call the neighbor, he chews them out and they use the old I didn't know where the lines were excuse. Neighbor said he would let me decide, I could either go show them where they were supposed to be hunting or he would tell them they weren't welcome anymore. I said I choose the latter. He told them to get out. I made chonus tag the deer before I took it. Shit pisses me off. This deer might of lived if they weren't trespassing.

Saw your post on FB about this. Sucks but idiots run around like there are no property lines during gun season everywhere Amish or not. At least they got run off and you kept the deer for your freezer. Also glad you got your buck already or this would have sucked even worse. Hopefully everyone will stay off your property from now on.

Incredibly frustrating. You own the land. They do as they wish. With their rationale, why would anyone ever buy land if they could just go hunt where they wish? I spent close to an hour this morning and this evening driving around checking properties for trespassers. As I turn around in MY drive on MY property I hear a gun shot. It was close but far enough away I have no idea if it was on my property or another. At 535pm I was not going to walk through my woods in my black Carhart jacket to investigate. Chances are I would just push deer to them if they were on a different property. Lord knows shooting after legal shooting time means nothing to them.

You are not alone Chad. I have written my own property off as a loss. It is nothing more than a property, a building for storage, and a great squirrel hunting location.

What gets me is that these amish live out in the country also, the only thing I can come up with is that they've killed off all the deer in their area now they have to find other places. The wife and I only own 7 acres and I've tried my best to not hunt there much so the pressure stays low. I like sitting out there during muzzy season but lack of does on camera this year said I wasn't going to kill any there. Then this asshole kills one, and she is a nice doe. There's a loss to next years herd. I feel like I'm ranting now so I'll stop. I'm just fuggin pissed off. One quick question though. Would you guys have called the WO on this matter? I had to get to work or I might of.

Sorry to hear this Chad and yes I would have had the WO take care of this.Unless these guys get nailed for this and pay some fines they will just continue to trespass and he'll that may not stop the idiots.

Also my brother lives around the Amish also and he said they know no boundaries while hunting and usual wipe out the deer herd wherever they live and then do what they just did to you.Freakin idiots.

I know that they pretty much go where they want. A couple of my buddies have had problems with them in the past. Do you think its to late to call my WO?

We ran into the Amish before and they do always act like they don't know the lines. Ours even had a map and walked past the signs for the property they were to hunt. I believe you did the right thing and glad you thought to make him tag it before he left. Loosing a deer would hurt more than paying some fine.
