I'm still wound up. Trying to sit in my office and wrap some stuff up for the weekend so I can go back out! Like to get settled back in the same stand by 4:00 today.

Pretty proud of myself for not shooting him honestly. I thought about it but clicked the safety off and started digging my phone out of my pocket to take his picture. It's still early, I've got some decent spots to hunt and he is just about the same size rack as the one I shot last year. They'd look like twins on the wall so I'm holding out for a bigger one.

What an exciting morning though! ickle:

Stayed out till 11. That buck that made that rub walked by my cam that's next to my ground blind & he was a dink. A couple of does walked by there during the night. I'm thinking that bigger buck will be back in due time. He was merely spot checking.

3 does this morning. Got down at 11:30, hung a set for tomorrow in a saddle between a thick ravine and my sanctuary. Ate lunch, pinched a grumpy, now I'm in a spot I've wanted to hunt all year. I've had some great hunts here in late October. Hope tonight is another.

Back in the same stand I was in this morning. The last 50 acres of corn around is about done being cut right now. It sits right against the wood lot I'm hunting but on the opposite side. Between the wind, the clouds, the temperature,this morning sighting and now the corn being cut I'm feeling pretty damn good about tonight.
