People that get pissy when you eat fish...bass fisherman are bad for this. Not all, but some freak out if you go bass fishing to eat them. That'll get a real close encounter out of me every time. I fish for my reasons, you fish for yours.

Same idea behind the guy that downs a fella for shooting a small buck.

Although this brings me to poachers and trespassers. Those trash shouldn't be considered sportsman at all. No respect, low life's, that don't deserve to share this with true sportsman.

J is right. In the case of a contained area like a lake, a management program is needed. Years ago I was told by a state-fish guy to manage a 10 acre lake for "trophy" bass, you had to fish out about 130 bass a year and over 3,000 bluegill, among other things.

When herd's, schools or flocks go Un-managed, nature will always step in to balance things out. Usually in an extreme way...

I always put the 4#+ bass back for fun but keep the smaller ones. Over population stunts growth.

Yep know many people this way bass aren't for eating. I send them pictures everytime I keep some to eat. I'm an assohole like that.

We really only fish my work and keep quite a few bass out of there. It use to be awesome we usually throw alot of the bigger ones back. It's over populated now and can't catch one much over 3 lbs but can catch a bunch of 1lb.
