Twireman hooked me up with some really old stuff not too long ago, and I finally got around to turning a striker out of it. He was told by the old timers that is was chestnut but he thought it was oak. After getting into it I'm pretty sure it's chestnut. It is 120 years old and came from a barn in Ross county, not far from Chillicothe. I'm going to use this stuff sparingly, and will definitely be saving a few pieces for when I am confident enough to turn a pot call out of it. I have one striker finished but I'm not posting a pic, it's going in the mail tomorrow and getting sent to twireman, but I will post a sound video😎. Thanks again, man!! Btw, this striker is running on slate.

Hey Chad have you considered turning some barrels for game calls? I bet you could make some pretty nice grunt tubes.

That sounds better than any of the strikers you get with your call, am I right? Chads strikers are the easiest I've ever ran. Sounds like a Killer call for next spring.
