Went to keim lumber today after a snakewood blank. Walked out with that, a black and white ebony, and some wenge. The ebony didn't turn out so well, but the snakewood did. I'll be entering this striker in the West Virginia contest.
Snakewood is one of, if not the hardest wood in the world, and it's also one of the most expensive. This is a $60-100 striker, depending on who's selling it, and it will run flawlessly on any surface. This is not a highly figured piece, but I picked the nicest blank they had.
