Creeping normality or death by a thousand cuts is the way a major change can be accepted as the normal situation if it happens slowly, in unnoticed increments, when it would be regarded as objectionable if it took place in a single step or short period.

Heard this on a radio program the other day and I can see this coming to fruition in another couple decades or less...

The death by a thousand cuts on the second Amendment....

I just have a hard time seeing this happening. If we lay down and say nothing than yes it will go away. There are just too many guns here. I think a good example of this is they banned bump stocks in Massachusetts and four got turned in. It only works if we comply.

How many of those gun owners would make a stand if one day you were labeled a felon if you were in possession of a firearm? IMHO 50-70% would comply....

Of the estimated 300 million guns currently in the US how many of the owners would want them gone? Most were probably family members guns passed down and probably haven’t been shot in years....

How many younger people could give a crap about any guns at all? Well other than what’s available on their gaming system.

How many people could lose their jobs with a felony firearm possession over their heads? You have a family and losing your livelihood not to mention the threat of being incarcerated would be a serious issue.

How many would risk the prison term or for that matter death for possession of a firearm?

Talks cheap, but when it comes down to nuts and bolts of the matter, who’d actually risk their way of life for it? You’ll have the die hard second amendment group, but how many would actually risk it all for owning a firearm?

I understand what you are saying but 50% is around 75 million people. And a lot of those people will be military. Thats a lot of felons. Just remember it only took 30% to defeat the British.

Yep, but, it’s estimated that only 25% of the population own weapons.

I don't think that is accurate. I've heard 50% and that seems more accurate to me. So that could be up to 35 million felons. Good luck uncle Sam.

I’ve seen anywhere from 25% to 49% of the population owns at least one weapon. Every article is based on estimates as it’s impossible to have any accuracy at the true numbers. So it’d be safe to say 37% if you split it lol.

The US couldn’t handle the amount of people who’d stand up and say enough. They may get around to identifying who has them but what then? Incarceration would be impossible by the shear numbers.

more people are becoming aware every day, that’s a good thing, BUT! Is it to late ?
I don't think so. Steven Crowder does a series called change my mind ant college campuses and one was on the 2nd amendment. Even these loony college kids don't want to totally get rid of the 2nd amendment. If this massive push by the media can't convince them I don't think anything will.

With enough time, pressure and brainwashing it will happen.

I really don't think so. I think there is still something in a lot of Americans that really hates tyranny. Maybe I'm just stupidly optimistic but I feel like there are too many Patriots out there for this to happen.

It's probably your bubble. I felt the same until I realized how many people the large cities actually hold. Those cities are 85%+ Liberals and since we are on team sports in politics they vote the way of the extreme.

Look at Colorado. Friggin cowboy state that is now a liberal mecca. The voting numbers in Texas has changed dramatically from the influx of people moving out of the failed progressive state of California.

Also, we don't have a Conservative party anymore. Democrats are mostly hidden Socialists, Republicans are the old Democrats, and the majority of the country in Middle America is getting nothing but placated. Everything has moved left, majorly.

I still disagree. I think the media makes it feel this way. There are plenty of normal Democrats that are pro 2A. It's the annoying 10% on the far left that are yelling the loudest And getting the attention. I think you will see more people leave the Democratic party as the elites running it get more and more radical.
