Wife vs tomato cage

Before I write anything, I must give credit to my wife for getting out in the garden and working it. She just came off 3 12hr shifts in a row at the hospital, has today off, and then back in for 3 more. Hats off to her for having any energy to do this.

However. . . this is funny as heck! She asked me if I had a small tiller she could use to weed the garden. Not wanting to break her spirit, I scrambled to the barn to fetch one. Gotta strike when the iron is hot fellas. If momma is in the garden being productive, you just don't do anything to take away her motivation! lol

I get her rolling and go get a mower out. Figure we might as well both get some stuff done. Before I even got the blades turned on, she was flagging me down. Apparently, one of the tomato cages was getting out of line, so she proceeded to make an example out of it for the other ones! :smiley_asswhip::smiley_dead:

If I got the pictures in order they should go something like this:

"Erin working hard in the garden."

"Oops. Honey, can you turn off the mower for a minute?"

"What can I say? It jumped out in front of me!"

"And let this be a lesson to any of you other mater cages that want to act out!"

Don't see too many ladies in the garden wearing a skirt...lol

I was thinking the same thing. Usually if you do it is one of the Mennonite ladies with the dress down to her ankles and a bonnet on her head. lol

I asked her about it and she said if she went in to change, she knew she would sit down and not come back out to the garden. She works 7pm-7am. I think she got to bed around 830am this morning and was up and rolling by 1pm after 3 shifts in a row this week. Like I said, I didn't want to slow her enthusiasm.

Phil, she is allowed in my garden with her skirt!

Thanks Dale. I think it is one of those skirt/short things. Not sure. Don't care. She looked like a high maintenance country club lady out in the garden today though. If she was in her usual garden attire, I don't think she would have wanted me taking pictures. lol

Actually, the cage DID protect the tomato. lol

There is a dealer in Lima and he has a branch in Sidney as well. What was he doing up here?

What's the review on those small Stihl tillers? I was eyeing one up at the hardware the other day. I thought it would make for good weed control but not the main tilling.

We have a mantis also. So far, I feel the Stihl is a tad nicer. Little better power in my opinion, more readily available service, and better adjustments i.e. more ergonomically suitable for all sizes. We have had this for 2 seasons I think. I mainly use it to turn mulch in large mulch beds for our customers. I probably have more use in one year than many would have in 5 yrs of personal use. I would recommend it Buckmaster. Also reasonable price for what it is. Not giving them away, but priced in line with the market of comparable units. I give it the go ahead!

I have the small Toro tiller and it does well on weed removal. Handy little things in beds that have been previously prepped.

Must have forgotten to take any Drake? I dunno. There was a big difference between Erin's and mine. She must have held full throttle in her panic until the tines wouldn't move. I was next to a cage, so the cage flinch and let off the throttle. My cage is back in the ground protecting the maters!

Well that's good!
