Boys my days of suffering while hunting in chilly temps and dealing with the constant frozen tundra-like winds of Fayette County are over. If ever there was a pleasant way to watch for deer during firearms season, this is it! Good luck all, I’ll check back in after I take my coat off. :)

Did a lot of ridge walking this afternoon. Jumped 6-7 deer out of a deep draw about 10 minutes into hike. Got them to stop but didn’t feel comfortable with shot due to proximity of property line. Walked some more ridges. Settled back down in a spot and had a nice buck chase a doe right by me at 50yds. Turned broadside and stopped too late. Gun was up and ready to go just couldn’t pull trig. Was a great evening to get out. Only heard a few shots nearby.

Had 4 doe come in at 3:00pm.
After 30 min of milling around I picked one, took one last look down the woods for da 30 point buck I had hoped would be following but wasent and let the Marlin 44 carbine speak.
She “hunch jumped” and ran the 30-40 yards, crashing in the thickest pricker brush she could find with a blown out heart.

Just a suggestion..... Cut a finger off a rubber surgical glove and slip it over the barrel of that muzzy..Get some of that snow down the barrel and you may miss a chance at a nice buck, when she don't go bang... Glove finger will blow off if you shoot...
