Well, even with the Purdue loss OSU is a better team. 2 of the 3 teams ending up ranked number 3-5 , ahead of OSU at #6 have clearly shown they don’t belong there
You guys are great! Y’all can put it out and take it without getting feelings hurt. Really fun site to be on. [emoji106]
LMAO Purdue...

So, in your opinion, the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA BASKETBALL, WORLD CUP, High School sports, etc, should all just play the top two ranked teams at the end of the year according to sportswriters? Teams do improve over the course of a year, get healthier, suffer injuries. Teams don't play the same schedules. The next time Alabama plays a true out of conference road game will be the first. Most other teams attempt an OOC road game atleast once every couple years.Boy. Sure glad people bitched enough to get a playoff system because they were tired of the same old teams in the BCS title game. Brace yourself, more 8 team playoff whining is coming. There absolutely should be at the very least an 8 team playoff, if not 12. Division 1 college football is the only sport where there isn't a true Tournament style format to determine a champion. 4 teams is a start, but it's laughable to think its remotely fair. I just dont understand the argument against expanding the field. Its literally done in every other sport. Hell, even in High School football you go through a 10 game regular season, and have to win 5 playoff games to be called State Champs
Anything more than 4 teams adds too much randomality to the system. Any team can get beat on any given day. Going to 8 teams proves nothing and adds nothing. You could play an 8 team playoff 3 times and likely come up with three different results. At that point you're not trying to determine the best, or the most deserving, but rather trying to make sure your team gets a shot. This also increases the odds of injury and things that could massively effect the outcome between 8+ teams. Funny you never hear this whining from fans of teams in the 10+ slots. People complained and whined for a playoff because they were tired of the same old teams in the BCS title game, now they're not happy with the playoffs because its the same results. The reality is they're not going to be happy as long as they are on the outside looking in and will come up with every reason why the system sucks and not their team. Team's should concentrate more on not rolling a zero in a playoff game when they do make it, and not getting blown out by teams like Iowa or Purdue in regular season, do that and they too will get a legitimate shot. Nobody keeps anyone out of the playoffs but themselves.
Does this apply to other sports or just football, added randomality is good thing. Like stated before teams improve over the season and some have injuries, one thing for sure it would shut up the UCF people, whose team I think would get crushed, but if you never let them play, you never know.

But the whole "earn it" part is a farce. Your letting teams get voted in by sportwriters and college presidents who despite what they say, absolutely have bias. And teams arent playing the same schedules. When the hell will BAMA play an out of conference road game against anyone with a pulse. Hell anybody for that matter. Saban wouldn't dare take that chance of losing an out of conference game and an SEC game in the same season cuz he wouldn't get in. Instead, he schedules Panera Bread University
