I've got to take some of the load off of the 3D target or I'm going to shoot it to bits before summer.

When I switched to the tab I also made a slight anchor change from my index finger to my middle finger into the corner of my mouth. It just felt a little more natural and easier. I'm getting pretty accustomed to the changes now. Still have the occasional WTF arrow but I am seeing progress.

I've come to the point where I know, if I do what I am need to do and execute the shot, good things happen. If I rush a bit, don't anchor quite right, any little thing feels wrong, not so good things happen.

It's one thing to know it...another to DO IT.

Exactly. I was excited at first then thought "wonder how dicked the arrow is?" It actually looks like it survived. Split the nock.

When I was younger I was proud as a peacock, as I got older, well there went $5.00 and now it’s close too double that 😂

I had officially shot the piss out of this cheap WalMart foam block. Good shots were nearly clean pass-through shots. The only reason these arrows stopped was another target behind it.

So, I went full redneck and pumped the hole full of foam insulation. Saturday was a long day with no time to shoot, so I was out at 10:30 or so, in the dark, shooting and listening to the faint sounds of Athens' #Fest in the background.

This target is officially retired for now. First shot at lunch today.

But on the other side...

So I changed it up and booted around the kick target for a while.

Get some judo points and throw some tennis balls out in the yard great practice.

That's a better idea than throw bird seed out in the yard and work on starlings. lol

I got surprising good news last night. My father in law offered to loan me his huge Morrell range bag for our yard. I'm picking it up tonight. Have to make a quick frame capable of holding it, he said it's nearly 200lbs.

Finally back in town from Indy. Saw Air Force 1 fly over the zoo while we were there bringing Trump in for the NRA convention practically next door at Lucas Oil. Really cool thing to see. Grabbed the range bag from my in laws last night. I'm going to pick up some posts and build a frame to hang this monster.

I'm getting a whopping 2-3" of penetration on this thing. I think it's gonna last a while.

Yesterday was hectic, had to work late, family stuff from the moment I walked in the door. Once everyone else was asleep, I did a few minutes of night slingin'.

I ran to Lowe's after work and grabbed a couple of 4x4 posts and got the holes dug before dinner and mowing. Finished up after dark, with a head lamp on being swarmed by asshole gnats and bugs trying to fly into my eyes and ears. But, it's done.

I snuck in about 30 arrows last night before dinner and the monsoon. It's amazing how coldly this bag stops these arrows. Very little penetration. Nice knowing I've got something solid to shoot at that will last a long time.

I stepped off sort of my max shooting distance for where I put the target and I can go to about 40 with where I put it. The shots above were from 20. One 40 yard group after that was slightly bigger...like (big) beach ballish...or a little bigger than that.

Now that I have the big range bag set up, I'm shooting long range groups a lot more. Still blows my mind how much adding small increments of distance does to trad bow groups. At least, for me. Here's a good 20 yard group from over the weekend.

And then I stepped back to 40 (big increment).
