good job, bud.
I've been shooting lots of arrows for the last several weeks. I need to build up my strength from taking damn near a year off from shooting. it's working for me as I'm feeling pretty good now, not getting fatigued after shooting 20 or 30 arrows. I'll shoot a few tomorrow, take Friday off and rest my back and neck for a day before the OSTA State Shoot this weekend. you should try to make it if you've never been. two 30 target courses. I'm going to shoot Saturday morning, might go back and shoot on Sunday if I have any arrows left, lol. have not been to a shoot all summer.

Wish i could make it Jamie, been pretty busy here with Lisa breaking her wrist last week, we have to go see a specialist Friday to see if she is gonna need surgery.
Hoping not but it doesn't look good.

Shot some rounds at 40 yds for fun today.
First round they were mostly low but started to figure it out after that.
Lot of fun shooting that far,did sail a couple high at first right over the target.
Will keep doing some of this cause it sure makes the close shots seem easy.

I will say that this sure has made shooting for me fun again that it is very addicting where I dont want to miss a day of shooting.
Boarhead,
I think this is the most important part of archery...enjoying it again and "wanting" to shoot. There's no replacement for familiarity with the equipment your going to hunt with, no matter the weapon.

I wish you all the best, this season!

Good hunting, Bowhunter57

Gonna get caught up here, seems like alot of guys are starting to take up trad shooting on here, should probably just have one big thread for everyone to post on like we do Jamie's cold shot thread.
Been shooting quite a bit since before turkey season, had fun and got my first bird this season at 12 yards, that one was really special to me,been trying awhile.
Been fletching up some arrows different colors, being red/green colorblind i see the blue, white, yellow and black the best.Blue and white really stands out to me.
I also put a clicker on my bow this Spring and it has really helped me stay consistent with my shooting and tightened my groups up.
Been wanting a 6 arrow quiver for awhile now so had Thunderhorn Archery make me one a few weeks ago, really like it.
I am still a 20 to 25 yard guy on shooting as it should be,getting the game in close is what it is all about.
Still have fun shooting 35 and 40 yards and getting pretty descent at it,sure makes the close shots seem easy.
Cole will be coming over some this summer to shoot with me so we will have a blast on the long shots for fun.
Here are a few pics, most shots were at 20 yds,the deer with the block target behind it were 38 yards.
Cole is gonna help me put up 2 ladder stands in the back yard so that will be fun shooting.taking down the old one as the platform is too damn small, never did like it.
Ok caught up now time to do alot of shooting before season gets here.kill

In the Uplands
I’m all in now. Caught the bug bad carrying my recurve around the majority of last season.

Bought a ‘59 Bear Kodiak Recurve 60” recurve. I’ve had my eyes on this bow for awhile. Draw weight is 45lbs. Letting the string stretch now then will be setting it up and letting arrows fly.

Walbridge oh
My very first bow was a grizzly that I got around 1979 or 80 but no longer have it because a limb delaminated while shooting carp years back. My neighbor gave me this grizzly but like the longbow it's 50# so it don't get shot.

Thanks! It's old looking in person lol. The neighbor used it for bowfishing back when I was a kid. Bear bows are hard to date. Don't know if it's into the 60's but it has to be at least early 1970's.
