I spent most of my day working towards the deer. Cut up six trees to open up the four wheeler trails so I can mow. Got a load of corn so I could get two feeders filled since the loggers left. Dumped out about 8 gallons of minerals to refresh the sites.
Nice work fellas! Coyotes woke me about a half hour ago...guess I need to get on that.

put out 10 cameras yesterday added to some mineral sites and started a few new ones. i jumped a buck yesterday that already had 8 points hes gonna be a tank if he finishes as good as hes started.
Pulled out all the stops behind the house to see what's back there. Had a little help too!
Mowed the grow. Who needs a chopper? Shit was tall.
Hung 2 solid sets today and hung 2 cams. One over minerals and the other over the growing beans. Was a great day to be in the woods!
I posted this in the pictures of spring thread. If you look at the doe? She has a huge growth or balls ( if it's a buck )
So yesterday in my back yard I see what I believe to be the same deer without the fawn and there it is again, that huge sack between the back legs. I looked and did not any signs of antlers but maybe it's to early. If it is a doe she got something funky going on that I have never seen, if it is a buck he is going to be a real ball dragger.

Honestly, I’m not sure what to do at this point. Besides leave them alone. Minerals just keep getting washed away. Not enough deer in my area to fill the feeder. Just feeds the coons... Looking like another year of just letting things happen naturally in hopes of a rebound. Feels helpless

Mineral blocks would stick around for a while and they're cheap. Add the granular mineral once it starts calming down with the rain.
For me to make a mineral area that would t be under water, it would be within eyesight of the house. Eyesight of my dogs...my neighbors dogs...seems counterproductive to me.

In anticipation of having a 1200’ gasline put in this winter, we are experimenting with beans. Spread and dragged these on June 8th. So far so good.
