I built a little karma. Couple of my buddies hunt another property. One of them is having pretty bad health issues right now. I helped the other buddy move a 21' ladder for them. Hopefully one of them can connect from it.
Your a good man, Phil!!!

This past weekend we were down and did some much needed repairs on our most used shack blind. Last year we cleaned it out during the summer and must have pissed the mice off because they came back with a vengeance. We opened it in November and it was infested as well as stunk to high hell. Well part of it was the fact we needed to repair the roof for years but neglected to do it. A tree had fallen and clipped part of the roof which later rotted and a squirrel decided to make a nice hole in it for every critter and wasp to call it home. A while back I ripped out the carpet, swept it out and left the windows wide open til this weekend.

Here it is before improvements

First was the roof. Had to replace a 2 x 3 ft piece and re-shingle that part. My not so little helper really stepped up helping out.

Next came the big upgrade, new windows. I found a place online that made custom fit windows to your dimensions. DeerViewWindows handled the order and we could not have been happier. They fit perfectly!!

We also spread brassicas in the corn out the last window pic. There were plenty of bare spots out there as well as down the rows. I’m so stoked to have this blind ready for Allen this year. By far his most favorite spot, as well as it was for my dad.

Just completed doing my Lone Wolf Alpha II & 5 climbing stick with the 'Stealth Outdoors' 'Conceal Camo' adhesive strips.

I also wrapped 5/16" 550 brown para-cord on the front of the tree-stand platform and used what was left for my bow hand line, which is approximately 25' long that is tied off with 6" of 5/16" bungee-cord & D-spring clip.

I wrapped the D-spring clip with some of the adhesive 'Conceal Camo' strip 'TOO'.

The 6" of bungee-cord tied off on the hang line will always allow a nice tight wrap around with tension to the tree-stand platform while traveling.

Did the buckles as well.

The 'Stealth Outdoors' adhesive Conceal Camo strips really took away all the shine and virtually no clanking anymore while packing, unpacking and hiking.

Something I'd recommend to anyone that hikes with a climber on a regular basis.

'Stealth Outdoors' makes it super easy to do for most any of the 'Lone Wolf' products. They also have the 'Strata' pattern if you're interest in that.

So that's what I did for the deer today!

Just one more thing I'd like to add,,,

So for the very first time, I setup my new Lone Wolf Alpha II and shot three arrows from that elevated position.

Mind you, I really haven't been practicing like I should lately, but I have every intention on doing so over the next month.

Anyhow,

what I really like is the feel I get when I climb the Lone Wolf sticks with the new 'Stealth Outdoors' strips on them.

They're real soft and not slippery when I grab a hold of them my bare hands. That to me will be a super nice feature when it gets darn cold out.

With the five sticks that I have, I estimate that I'll be able to get as high as 20-25' up into a tree.

This photograph below shows the setup @19' to the top of the platform, which is comfortable enough for me.

I'd like to thank @cspot for selling his stand to me, so thank you very much!!!

I believe it's going to workout real well for me this season.

Second set of three arrows is better!

I was in the sitting position within the stand, which is something I don't normally do, however to minimize movement and the chance of getting busted, sitting might be the way to go for now...

My first set within the last post was from the standing position in the stand.

I'll definitely be practicing over the next few weeks, both from within the stand and the other with all my gear on trying to simulate a spot and stalk scenario.

I intend on hunting many areas (different counties) throughout Ohio this season.

Some real old spots and several new...

19' is a lot higher than I got with the setup. LOL. Glad it is working out for you.

Finally had some time to scout some spots at school. Found a couple nice rub lines already opening up on some flats on ridges.

The oaks are holding good in some spots and some are not holding that well in others from what I can see. Which is unfortunate because I had a productive stand sight in the past that is on a huge oak flat. This year it looks like it has dried up.

Found a couple more possible pinch points for some stands as well. Should be interesting to see how it shakes out for us.
