Wow thats a poke!
Yes it is. Borderline ridiculous actually. I kinda raised an eyebrow when he told me and he knew right off I wasn’t all that pleased with his choice. He said the deer came charging towards the decoy, but he had a hot doe with him that changed his mind. He said it was just standing there with no intention of moving as they often do when with a doe. So he ranged it, pulled back and sent an arrow through him. He shoots baseball size groups at 80 yards and has been hunting with one of his hinge releases because he doesn’t punch the shot with it. It’s hard to give a good reason not to kill them at that range when the deer is laying there dead. And too, he said, “well, we’ve lost em when we shot em at 20. So knowing it’s always possible, if you can do it, why not send it”...

I'm not judging. I've seen the kid shoot 4-5 years ago. Even then he was impressive. I know he works hard at it. I'm not jealous he has twice my range on live deer. He has worked to know his limits. Congrats to the young man!

This was at 55 yards, his first time shooting the men’s open class Obviously he was shooting at the marked 12 ring and got it. He is a little above average, but that is still a long, long shot to try on a whitetail.

Congrats to him. I litterally couldnt even see a deer 73 yards away.He would have already jumped and been 20 yards away before my old Outback would have even got an arrah to him lmao. I've met Mason before and he is quite amazing kid. You raised him right for sure (besides letting him think m. Rex is cool ; ))

Lol. Mrex has never done or said a thing to make Mason think a negative thing about him. However, I have heard or read Mrex say that shooting at deer over 35 yards is foolish Maybe that will be the topic of their first debate
