I was first born. My mom made me cook with her from 2 years old standing on chairs at the counter baking Xmas cookies and breads until ? Now look at me now! Only a few have seen my mad cooking skills. My younger sister is capable of burning a pot of water. My mother must have gave up after me. I’m the cook at family gatherings. Feeling privileged.....Thanks Mom!

I "learned" to cook in college by watching Emeril and getting after it in the kitchen. I'm convinced I learned how to cook via "genetics" thanks to a grandmother (dad's mom) that was a great cook/baker. I'm also convinced your palate is the most important tool you can have. If it sucks, you'll suck as a cook. When people ask for recipes, I rarely have one, so they'll ask how I made it and I always answer "I just make was sounds good to me and I make it to my taste." I'm rarely off point and it's mere luck and good fortune over training/skill.
