There are going to be spikes for awhile. Nobody took this seriously. Jackass kids going on spring break still doesn't help. I still see plenty of people out and about. I think they are slowly getting it. Myself? I still have my reservations. Part of me still thinks it is blown out of proportion. Seeing our government argue about how to spend TWO TRILLION dollars we don't have blows my mind. Adds to the skepticism. I'm doing my best to heed the requests of the government though. I think most people are starting to "get it." We aren't going to be S Korea. I'm not sure we will be Italy either. Those graphs and charts don't show everything. Our country is more spread out than Italy. I honestly don't know much about S Korea's density. Our population isn't as old as Italy's. Our health system is better than most. It is peaking here later than other countries. We are able to benefit from some of their trial and error. Our graphs might not be much different than S Korea. Just a different timeline. All I am trying to say is: We have reasons to be positive. Even if we haven't seen the top of the curve yet. . . .we need to remain positive. Time to nose to the grindstone thru this thing. Pick up the pieces later. What happens to the economy happens. No turning around now. Honestly, the entire world is taking an economic hit. I'm not sure we will be any worse off than the rest of the world. Global economy is going to be hit.

Moving further away from the gold standard invites many more issues that could hasten the fall of our republic. Another step towards 1984.

I also thought both Pelosi and Waters were against IDs as a point of racism..... don't trust it.

Here's a good read on why/how S. Korea was able to control their outbreak. They were prepared due to their earlier experiences with SARS/MERS. We weren't really impacted by those so we didn't have the same processes in place. Also Im not sure how churches in this country would react to their members' personal info being demanded by the govt.

Buck Sexton is very good and this is worth a listen. His point is that people are going to die from this and we can’t shut down the economy for months, he says really can’t do it much longer than we already have.

His point is we will crash the economy and could push the unemployment to 30%

Boy that last paragraph definately needs alot of consideration... I've been thinking that all along... It's just to massive and fast moving...

I believe it's a beta test to understand how it will react in a natural, uncontrolled, environment when it is really needed. Gives the host country a chance to not only gather data on the virus, but to also see what advisories have up their sleeve in regards to response timing and tools.

Can you imagine not having to fire a bullet, but once the other country is on its knees, a few strategic infrastructure attacks or EMP.....just sit back and watch your enemy destroy itself.

Hopefully our guberment comes away from with with stronger succession plans now that they know Capital Hill can be gutted by an invisible enemy.

I have not Denny. Had a few people pulled off the job late last week due to their grandmother having it. They're on two week quarantine. My wife works at a wound care clinic across the street from the local hospital. As far as we know, no positive tests there yet. But it's coming IMO

Yep. Despite having what most considered the best CDC in the world we iignored the idea that it could ever happen to us.

Yep. Other countries have had great success with it. A really safe drug that has been around for a very long time. But our FDA has to do a bunch of clinical trials and studies of their own before they'll admit that it's a viable treatment for Covid. Until that later undetermined blessing date from the CDC we can just deal with a pandemic.

I do. A person that my wife went to school with and keeps in contact with. He was the first case in Franklin county. His two-year-old son was the second case. Interestingly enough his son spiked a high fever for a day but by that night was running around fine. He has said it was like a really bad flu for him personally.

The reason why I pose the questions is that I have clients/customers, family members and friends all throughout the country and no one knows anyone personally with this virus as of to date. My wife works for Abbott Labs, an international company and still, no one knows anyone with the virus. My son works for HBO in NY and still, he knows of no one with the virus in NY.

It is. But I think it's just a number thing. We have 442 cases so far in a population of 11.7 million.

I feel like we're talking in circles. Inevitably at this point, you know someone that's been infected. What you don't know, and they don't know, is if that's true because they haven't been tested. Lack of testing is the great unknown right now. We may be at the peak of the bell curve, but we won't know until we confirm with testing and unfortunately, confirmed tests and actual infections are 2 separate curves right now.

Day 1 on working from home here in Michigan. It took an order from the Governor for our owner to pull the plug and send us home. Now sitting in the same room typing away with my wife while she is working. She was sent home 2 weeks ago. So far so good on the health side of things, knock on wood. Have to say it though, we wouldn't have been prepared for this in any way had it not been for TOO and this discussion. We had food, TP and everything else ready before the big run on things. Thanks everyone! Stay healthy!

I agree. But the economy is also people lives. It represents peoples life savings, their businesses, their children's financial stability and futures, their college funds, retirements, and could impact the next generation very heavily. It's a double-edged sword. The closure of everything as we know it is only supposed to be a temporary reprieve for the government and hospitals to prepare for what they should have been prepared for all along. It is not a longterm solution and is unsustainable. If we don't have some sort of solution within the next 3-4 weeks the damage will likely be felt for decades and even a generation.

It kinda a no win deal - if everyone goes back to work and it spikes and the death toll spikes the economy will prolly crash - whats done is done hope we learned something - were in the hands of nature and the scientists - hope they come up with something
