Drew killed a good one this am! We were setup for Addy to do the shooting and Drew was gonna bat cleanup. This old tom made the mistake of giving Drew a shot. One of the most epic days in the turkey woods that I've experienced in 30 years of chasing these things! We almost had Addy one as well, the one with Drew's gobbled at the shot, lol. It has been a day that we will surely always remember! That 1st hr of daylight that we experienced was unreal and I can't even begin to explain the events..unbelievable!!!

I had to get it taken care of and get to work, lol....these moments never happen when I have the entire day off...how are you to supposed to go to work after a morning like that?
If you couldn’t tell, I was a bit excited. Turkeys don’t normally do that to me, I just couldn’t keep it to myself! 😂👍🏼 Congratulations again, Drew. I’m glad you 3 got to share a morning to remember. TOO good!

My buddies hunt from a couple days ago - some items to keep in mind as you watch this...he bagged a mature tom, with a bow.
- the decoys are placed at 7 yards. the three mature toms pass between the blind and the decoys... maybe 3-4 yards
- he had never been turkey hunting before, gun or bow
- he had never heard a turkey gobble in the woods prior to that morning

- Yes, that's him hyperventilating about 0:45 into it...
- He got a mature tom -just off this camera when they came about 1:30 into the video - you'd never know if from the the other two and the the last tom after the shot molests the decoy. - the shot on the Tom coming up...

So yesterday I was already considering going on Sat before the announcement that state forests would be opening... So I took a ride up to Delaware Water Gap Recreational Area which is owned by the federal govt. Comming out of the woods I see a SUV drive by and stop and back up and pull in next to me... Female park ranger gets out and gives my truck the once over... I emerged from the woods and announce my presence... I stopped maybe 20 yds. from her and we chatted for over a 1/2 hr... I gave her a little history lessen of the area she patrols every day... It was truly a pleasure talking with her...

Yup, I saw her also....I’m a little younger so I was able to “talk” for a couple hours.😂

I heard one bird far off on the opener. Been hunting hard and have yet to even hear a single gobble since then, not even on the roost. First time in 20 years I didnt fill a tag in the first week.....hell didnt even get to work a bird. Not sure if it's all the pressure or what but I'm beginning to think that thr birds are not even there. Haven't heard much shooting either. It's a major bummer cause my passion is talking to turkeys. I think I may just pick up the fishing rod for awhile.
