Got over my plateau...finally under 300lbs for the first times in about 3 years, down 70 lbs overall. Ran my first 5k on Saturday...got first in my weight class :smiley_crocodile: Although I wasn't able to run for 3 weeks I set a new best time for myself at the race, I guess the competition helped me to keep a faster pace, although at times I felt like I was at a fast walk. As soon as little league is over I'm hoping to get back into a better schedule of training and hope to run another 5k around August where I'll be trying to take 5-10 minutes off my time.

Well, this was the last time I had checked in on this topic with my weight. After this check-in baseball games were in full swing and I neglected to FIND the time to run, let alone eat healthy. Needless to say I'm beyond pissed at my temporary slip up. As a fat-ass it took me very little time to put 13lbs back on - you read that right - 13 lbs!!! :smiley_blackeye:

I'm happy to report, however, that I'm back on track - eating better and working on regaining my running endurance. It will get there soon enough, I know. As of this morning I'm only 3lbs away from being back in the 200s, and I should definitely hit that next week as long as I can stay true this weekend (weekends have always been the bain of my weight loss endeavors). I have to remember that reaching my goal will be far more satisfying than eating unhealthy.

My 1month weigh in I was down 14lbs from 256 to 242..I am shooting for 230 by oct 1st(short term) an about 210 by Feb or March...I have not increased physical activity(still out of shape just losing weight)..Today is a massive cheat day..Beer,whiskery an grilled food!!!

Joe, What's your status? Are you still trying to shove a few pounds?

Lost 11 in 2.5 weeks.. Got tired of starving. Drank beer and ate like a horse for a week and a half... Metabolism slowed again and I gained back 6... So I'm at 194. About to hit it again next Monday for 2 weeks. Goal is 180 by opener. I need to lose 14 more from here..... Easy Cheesy. :)

I don't go on prolonged diets to lose weight.. I'll just starve it off in steps... Starve for a couple weeks. Eat like a horse for a week or so. Then do it again. By "starve" i don't mean not eat. Just eat a bunch of low calorie foods. I'm never hungry as I'll snack 5-6 times a day.. But i may only eat 800-1000 calories total. A man can eat three apples and be full as a tick. But he only consumed 200 calories or so.

3 apples = +/- 200 cal
Slimfast = 190
Zone bar = 190
Bananna = 100
Two boiled eggs = 160
Sargento Cheese snack = 190

Split all that into 5-6 snacks through the day and you're only at 1030 calories for the day. Being Sedentary (just daily routine) i burn about 2220 calories a day.

Well I've been under 200 for a while now, so I decided to start the muscle building process. Week 1 has me up 2 pounds with a 270 bench as my starting point. The new goal is to be 215 by turkey season with a 300 bench. Total weight loss at the peak was 43 pounds. Now I want to pack on 20 pounds of muscle while keeping my BMI where it's at now or lower.

Seems like a very reasonable goal! I have been hitting the gym the last two nights and damnnnn it sucks to get back into it after not lifting for 3 months, well, not lifting mechanical/free weights; working on the farm always helps! I didn't lose a lot of strength over the summer, mostly tone. Sore, but feels good to get back on the horse again err the bike.

I just can't seem to get into a groove, always something going on that is keeping me from going on a consistent basis. There is no way I can run the Warrior Dash this month. My running started strong and has no fizzled off like my gym time. I am pretty frustrated. I am shooting for next week to be my starting point again. Summer is over and the thinning out is over. I am going to be lifting heavy again with low reps. I wish I had a lifting partner, sure would help with gaining strength. Not getting those last couple reps in sure makes a difference.

I feel you on that one, I lift alone because it's better for my schedule. Sucks for getting the heavy weight and reps though Last year I stayed consistent the whole time and it's just become a non-negotiable commitment in my schedule. An hour investing lifting and on the bike means that my mind will be clearer for the next few hours of work (I normally workout at 10pm). Plus it just makes you feel better and that whole being healthy thing!

Put up 275 yesterday for a new personal best. I managed to do 5 reps of 215 as well. Slowly but surely, I'm inching my way towards the new goal!!!

Ran 1.55 miles last night. I just couldn't take the rain and running in soggy shoes any longer than that. Hopped on the scale this am and discovered I'm now 297 bringing my total weight lost to 73 lbs.

That is awesome JJ! I would have never guessed 370 was your starting point. Deceiving given your height I guess.

I hear that a lot. I think only Jesse was ever able to guess my starting weight one time when we were talking about it. I've always carried my well evenly distributed and I think that helps me look better when wearing clothes. Although I would say a lot of my weight is in my legs - they are pretty muscular, but when you are carrying around 300lbs and more the majority of you're adult life I guess that is what happens. LOL! I'm halfway to my goal - I think 225 would be a good weight for me.
