This driveway has the best base on the block. Old railroad slag that was compacted on fabric in 1995. Never developed a rut or a pothole. Especially just wore out the gravel after 25 years. Best $351 in curb appeal I could have spent today.
You guys put 57's on top? I'm thinking I've heard of different name/numbers in different parts of the country. Seems 411's are the go to around here. Mix of 57's down to fines.
57s is the most common driveway gravel in these parts. Standard protocol with the occasional 304s to lock it in.

It does look pretty Jesse. Only my last 400’ nearby my house is limestone. The 900’ balance is gravel to the road. Someday I’ll do the whole thing in limestone. I’ll have an Amish driveway then....but if I do...Giles would never want to leave.
Personally, I don’t like 57s or 304s. Pissed me off when I leave the driveway and hear rock chips. I also don’t like the dust.
Our 8'x14' wood deck out back was rotting so we decided it was time to update. We also got rid of our above ground pool last fall so we needed to do some work in that area.
Decided on a 16' x 30' stamped patio and turn the old pool area into a sitting area with fire pit. Made some good progress the last couple days.
Hoping to pour Monday.

Nice! We got rid of our deck and replaced it with a patio last year. I wish we would’ve done it 10 years ago
Wishes the Rain would move out I would play some more.
A rainy afternoon project, quick face lift in the master bedroom. Beats the hell out of painting and quells the “I wanna move” talk for a bit longer
This quarantine has been amazing. My son has stepped up. Making me proud. He has helped remodel a bathroom, work on rental properties, mow. . .yesterday he used the hedge trimmers. He got "Pruning 101". Today he emptied the remaining old fence and some pallets from one of our equipment trailers. He will be wire wheeling and painting it soon. He IS getting paid. Got to motivate a kid somehow. He turns 16 next month. A year ago he begrudgingly helped. He was not a lot of help. I'm amazed at how he has stepped up. Maybe gas powered hedge trimmers and sawzalls should have been introduced sooner. Lol

I also broke down to paying my kids to get them out doing something. I figure the $500 each the gov gave us is really their money anyways. I will stretch it out as long as I can
Couple projects completed tonight, another uncovered. I overhauled my sprayer after 5 years of use. Replaced the filters and nozzles on the boom, new pressure gauge to replace a broken one, new o-ring in the hand wand, seal tape on all the seals. I'll pressure test it with water tomorrow.
Ordered a battery for the quad after 2 years of pull starting. Installed it and the hitch receiver tonight. Unfortunately, I smelled burning oil and she dripped on the garage floor. She was might low on oil. Looks like after 20 years, she may need a seal/gasket. Common failure after lots of pull starts. Project for another day. The hitch attachment will be handy for pulling my little trailer, but also rooting out logs and such.

Hitches on quads. I was never a believer until I had one. Won't go without one now. You will be happy with your decision. Even just for shuffling trailers around or toting one. It gets them away from the rear tires. Reduces tire/tongue rubbing. Works amazing pulling my big ass lawn roller.
I agree with, Phil. You will get stuck with it though. Only downfall to having them. At least that quad is small enough to man handle it. Just prepare yourself to catch on something you used to clear without issue.
The receiver it's is only 6" long, so it won't be an issue for me 99% of the time. The pain will be adding the ball and trying to get my trailer some of the places I hope it'll go!
