What do you call him?
Human

A guy that can't be bought.

A great example of integrity.

A man that truly gave up his life for the greater part of Americans.

He is proof that not all heros wear a cape.

Wars are not fought on battlefields any more. I'd rather have this one guy on my side. He had the power to make a difference and he did. What would you call a man like this?

Finally watched the show in it's entirety last night with Allen and my wife. I watched parts of it and listened to some of it at work but with it going in the background I never really got through it all. Glad we finally saw it. I was surprised to hear from Allen that they had to watch it in high school earlier in the school year this past fall. Of course I caught myself checking FB 3 times during it, my wife never put her phone down and Allen was on his now and then as well. Really gave me a better understanding of how it works. What surprised me was how the people who have had their hands in creating social media basically are warning us all on where it is pushing each and every one of us. Jenna got home from studying as it was ending and I said to her that she needed to watch it as she was scrolling through social media herself as soon as she sat down. She said "no, it wouldn't interest her" as she was flipping along on her screen LOL!

I vowed last night to give FB at least a 7 day break, hopefully a lot longer. So TOO you better give me some funny and good shit to read!!

Yup, I deactivated my FB on Monday. I only deactivated and not deleted so that I could keep messenger in order to keep in touch with guys I served with. I tried to find this thread, but when I was doing a search, I spelled dilemma correctly, that's why I couldn't find this thread.

Took me a while to find it as well Dustin. For now I just hid my app icon back in my phone, I will definitely consider deactivating it too as I use messenger to keep in contact with family in Ohio.

The wife and I watched it over the weekend. We're going to watch it again with our kids. I'm deleting Facebook from my phone along with a few other time-sucking apps.

I also just finished reading Indistractable. It was a good read and highlighted many of the same things discussed in Social Dilemma. The book isn't about eliminating social media from your life, rather it's about understanding the distractions it can bring into your day because that is what it is intentionally designed to do.

OK TOO since I stopped visiting FB for a while I have noticed the posting rate here needs to improve. My algorithms tell me that everyone needs to step up their commenting so I have an average of 20-40 new posts every 10 minutes per my refresh rate of 10.9 seconds to keep my sanity. I mean replace one bad thing with a good thing is a good thing right?! :ROFLMAO:

Im in the same boat.

Whelp I made it til this afternoon staying off of FB. Got on quick to tell a friend sorry about his dog passing and a friend's birthday notification. I haven't missed much, all the political BS and people griping. Fuck that. I'm off til my wife mentions something else related to friends or family that needs attention. One thing is for sure, it seems I miss less in the conversations the kids and us are having. Plenty of times Terry would say we told you about that the other day but you were in your phone.
