Have had some nice hunts in some killer spots but have only seen one deer do far. Hoping the farmers can get it done with this dry spell and get the crops in. Good luck guys!

I was a clumsy kid. Kinda grew into it. Except with hunting. This morning could only be described as clumsy. Tough walk in, so I was sweating despite carrying more than half my clothes in and 2 does crested the ridge when I was 25 yards from the tree. It took 20 minutes for them to finally spook because I was now freezing and my right arm was asleep from my pack hanging of it. The whole time that was happening, a deer across the holler was snorting and stomping. Then as soon as I climbed up, a nice 2 year old strolled through while another deer blew down in the bottom. The spot is great, it's me that sucks. Fresh scrape at 22 right below the rising sun. Still had wet piss in it at 4PM yesterday.

Great morning so far. Handed out free passes to 3 different bucks and I currently have a button buck bedded down just 15 yds in front of me. Hopefully they keep strolling through here as the morning progresses. Haven’t laid eyes on a mature buck yet. But today feels good.

A nanny doe w/ her twins just left and headed back into woods right behind me after being underneath me for the last half hour grazing within the beanfield, plus the tempature is finally on the rise.
