Thanks for all the replies guys. From your responses and reviews, I went with the Tactacam Pro X. Just a quick jump back into the cam world and get my feet wet. I burned myself out on cams and quit using them personally about 4 years ago. Wanting to get sterling on a deer and realizing it'll be short hunts I wanted something to get some time intel.

I bit the bullet and got a banks outdoors gravity feeder to go with it. We can't dump corn on the ground here so feeders have to be elevated and covered or a spin-style feeder. The problem with a spin feeder is the deer will 100% go nocturnal as they know what that sound means around here. Guys have good luck with gravity feeders and the Banks is a single center 4x4 post so I figure it'll be easier to keep coons out of it.

Thanks Guys. I order that card except 100 MB/s which their site said was ok as long as it was over 90.

I also ordered the cable they recommended to hook it to an external battery. I have a 8AH 12v agm battery that I use for my floundering light.

Anybody running external power source for your cell cam? And if so how is it working out for you?I’m done paying all the money for the lithium’s anymore. I made the jump and ordered all the pieces / parts and 2 rechargeable 12volt 12ah batteries….. gonna be here tomorrow.

Yes, each Tactacam cell-cam of mine are equipped with both internal & external rechargeable lithium power sources (batteries). I attached the two different methods I use for all to review, however eventually all of them will be configured just like the one you see below within the first photograph.

I was going to create a video on this topic at some point, just haven't gotten there yet. Been a little busy lately.

Power Option #1 - my preferred 'go to' method. Can go for months, up to 6 possibly, depending how busy your camera is, before having to swap out with freshly charged batteries.

Power Option #2 - This one has the Tactacam Solar Panel with internal lithium rechargeable battery that connects to the Tactacam modular lithium internal rechargeable camera battery, and it does okay as long as the panel gets daily and direct sunlight. It too can go for months before having to swap them out with freshly charged ones however, I usually swap all batteries when I swap out the SD card with this power source setup.

You guys running external batteries… Is it because the property is far away and a pain to replace batteries? I’m consistently getting 2+ months and several thousand pictures on each set of regular alkaline batteries. It’s even better when I run lithiums. I’ve just never seen a reason to go through the trouble of an external battery supply or solar panel, even on properties that required me to put in some effort getting there.

Edit - I just checked the status of one of my cams… SPYPOINT Link Dark… launched on 9-30-2022 and still showing 67% battery life. El cheapo alkaline batteries from rural king or harbor freight.

I personally don't run them. But the guys I used to run with did. Not sure why they did it honestly. They were in baiting the place every weekend. Mustve been cheaper for them? Never asked

I could see it if your camera is on a bait pile and you’re sorting through 500 pictures every day for some ungodly reason. But that’s a simple fix too. Don’t tell it to take so many pictures over a bait pile! Lol
