If your herd is down by half, leaving them alone is by far the best option. I get aggravated reading posts on Facebook. “ We didn’t see deer last week so I shot the only one I saw”. And then to blame the ODNR... I’m not their biggest fan but a little common sense has to be applied.

That's always been the plan, brock, and I'm completely back to square one pretty much, like when I first moved here back in the autumn of 2015.

Brock... YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD... BEST POST I'VE SEEN IN AWHILE... Hunters are their worst enemy... EHD hit many areas and deer numbers are low... But they got shoot the few remaining deer...

Remember like a whole 24 hours ago when I said I wasn’t gonna hunt until a buck showed up? I lied. Card pull showed 5 does every morning between 7:30 and 9 so here I am looking for another freezer queen. I figure my wife and I ate 2 big does last year, and meat was gone by May. I have 2 in the freezer currently from the 3 I’ve gotten this year. I have 2 tags in my pocket, so I thought might as well shoot another doe now before all the parcels around here get sold and this area goes to shit and hold out for a buck late season or whatever. It’s warm as hell but the wind is right. Good luck to anyone else out.

Good deer movement in my neck of the woods this morning, Ross Co. I'm not out, but cared to pass along this info in case anyone else is out, or plans to get out. I think that there will be a fair amount of deer activity out there today in daylight.

Good luck!

2nd rut is on. 4 bucks pushing a doe this morning. Shot a buck that I didn’t have any history with. The ones I was chasing disappeared before gun week. This deer showed up during gun week. Think the neighbors pushed him in putting on drives. Felt good that I didn’t ruin my 8 year streak of buck kills with my compound. Unfortunately he shed both antlers when he crashed. He is really skinny. Must of ran himself ragged chasing tail. Hell of a hunt.
