Flats are a tighter meat with a bass type flavor. Blues are good w more a catfish taste. Channels are the strongest catfish flavor.

So I have a few palm trees around my pool and they have grown quite a bit. I was up trimming one of them on an extension ladder and it’s sketchy. All I could hear in my inner voice was “ dumb ways to die!” I called a firefighter that does lawn maintenance and told him to come cut these for me. Yeah Hunter does lawn maintenance but wtf he’s at?

Funny thing is I climb trees to hunt up to 30’. Something about a square ladder leaning down n a round tree and leaning way out and cutting around the tree just don’t feel right. I guess I could put my saddle on for safety. Rather pay someone to do it right.I find myself saying that more and more….. Just wish I’d listen!
Ladders is what bothers me (never has before) but then again I keep hearing about people close too me and friends who’ve fallen and not had great outcomes from it…. I go as far as ratchet strapping the ladder too the trees

I went put some test crawfish traps out. Gonna run them in the morning and see what’s up.

There's a war going on between a couple of seafood places here and they keep driving each other's prices down. Last weekend they were at 88 cents a pound live and went to 80 the last time I looked. Most other places are 1.99-2.49. I figured being closer to the source your market would be flooded too.

Pulled my crawfish traps out today. Cheaper to buy them and I got Turkey huntin on my mind.
Currently headed to the camp, will have a full 3 days to scout and maybe find one on public. Got my thermacell, sawyers and picked up some lightweight snake boots. Should arrive at midnight at the camp. Stay tuned in.
