The boys and I just made a quick blind for about 20 bucks. 4 electric fence pole 2.50 each, zip ties and the camo netting for like 10 bucks

Yep, two years in a row now, lots of birds, toms strutting everyday for well over month, then on Sat prior to youth season a switch gets flipped or yellow acorns spread and not a pic since ... not one pic. That coupled with the loss of all mature bucks after Jan 15th the last two years something fishy in Coshocton. Seems posting anything of substance on here or SM in general is like baiting for scum sucking poachers.

Same boat here as well. Have a buddy that is planning to bring his kids out this weekend to give it a whirl anyway since we had so many for so long. Had a hen on camera the other day so my hope is they are just in the areas off cameras but I have a bad feeling.

Ya, I'm driving 13 hours to hunt a bird... good vibes to get out in spring, some chores chill at camp etc but just dangit, was building up to be fun instead of sour. Having my 20 y/o niece down on opening day to try for her first - now I hope she hears one... maybe.

Gonna get my smile on thou, just got a note from my boy Zak that they went into labor an hour ago.... first grandbaby for the Mrs and I. We'll see....

Saw two on the hillside up from my field last night right about 9pm. They were heading to roost in an area I don't normally hear gobbling from but at least I know there are a few around.

My biggest problem is getting them to actually engage with calling. Haven't had a gobbler get fired up and call back to me in 2 years...its kinda depressing but I still love it.

I'll probably head south to EVWA at some point during the first week of the season and potentially once the whole day hunting happens as I know a few spots there that hold birds regularly.
