I walked some yesterday. Very disturbing couple of hours in the field. On top of finding 17 carcasses we had a run in with some wild dogs. I've seen wild dogs and they've always been scared of humans. These 4 were not!

I woke up a few times thinking about the situation and outcome last night. So I don't care to go into details. Campfire maybe.

Was on the tractor today and found this one..sad day, was hoping this one would make it another year or two. Walked this crp field in March but missed it..i could see it easy up on the tractor today.
That is 30 total for me that I have found dead since October on the 2 farms about 2 miles from each other. Talking to other neighbors around the area that's around 68 that we know of. We did have some descent bucks make it so hopefully they will put on some inches this Summer. #FUCKEHD

So let me ask; Who is doing what in an attempt for protection or improvement this year?

I was trying the Higgins mineral and any other that tout EHD aid (though it seems like a loft claim), addressing any muddy area water holes as best as possible..... I just cant sit idle though it may be pissing in the wind.

I’m not doing squat.
A buddy used to raise deer. Those deer were feed the best food, drank from fresh water troughs and had the best medical care money could buy. There was no stagnant water close. They were housed 1/2mile from the nearest water source and it’s a constant flowing rock bottomed stream. He lost 40 deer in a few days time in 2017. I don’t think anything sold would have saved them.

We use these in the ponds and low areas that hold water behind our house and they do seem to work well for mosquitoes. Wonder if they'd have any effect on the midge larvae in small stagnant ponds or places they may thrive? Thought about taking a few down this summer to treat our 2 ponds and maybe a water hole or two.
