Yesterday I cleaned and started the preserving process to the turtle shells.

today I cleaned the heads and cut all the neck meat off and vacuumed sealed the meat w my vp215 sealer.

tomorrow I have to debone the turtle meat and put up. I will put some clear varnish on the outside of the shells to keep them from popping off. We going to Daytona beach for the week. So I will finish them up after. The heads will soak in water for 2 weeks to get all the flesh off, then I will put salon grade peroxide to whitening them. I will post finished photos later.

@triple_duece do you put the turtles live in water and swap for fresh water for a couple days to “clean” them? I’ve never kept a snapper but that’s the “they say” process i’ve heard in the midwest, I always thought it seemed unethical. I could google it but it’s more fun to hear what you do.
