More alcohol that the lights.
Less carbs, but not much less.More alcohol that the lights.
100%It's not the carbs and calories that get you with booze, it's the way alcohol messes with your hormones. Cutting down on calories and carbs is helpful, but that's not the root cause of the issue with alcohol and weight gain.
For me it's a combination of not feeling as good, snoring more, noticing physical changes i don't like (including how i looked in family photos) and not being where i want/ need to be in order to have the life i want for the futureDiet change didn't work for me. So fasting and no alcohol starts Monday. No weight goal, I just want to feel better and not so weighted down. Maybe it'll help my lungs and energy level which will help me feel better overall. Not wanting to here what the doc had to say "you are getting to that age and aren't the man you used to be". So I talked with her about a fasting diet and she agreed that a 15 hour fast was a good place to start. Which I've been doing since my visit with her, but I will get more strict with myself starting Monday.

Even though I got fat again, fasting has been a routine for me going on 8 years now. I do 18-24 hours every Monday and 16 hours on the norm (8P-12P). I am still amazed at how good I feel when I do longer stretches (36 hours). It really is a useful tool.First real fasting is in the books. 6 pm till 11:30 this morning. Ended it with some cabbage rolls.

On that note, I'm at hour 16 right now and will probably go 20+ today. I had my first visit to the doctor in 8 years a couple weeks back. My BP was a little high, then later settled, but they want me back in 30 days. I also happened to weigh in at 230, which is downright unacceptable. My blood work was perfect, but at 42 with a history of high BP and heart disease, I really took it to heart. I've got work to do
