LIVE from the stand 2024-2025!

Adapt and overcome! Nice having a buddy who’d do that for you.
You are right J. Without him I would have quit a few years ago. He won't let me hunt alone and has one rule for me. Sit in my stand and let the arrow fly. He does the recovery the field dressing and loads the deer in the trailer for me He doess let me haul it back to the truck. He is a great friend that is much appreciated.

That’s awesome too hear, Dick….
Like you I have a good friend that would do the same for me. I kid him constantly that he better keep in shape, he’ll need it to push my wheelchair out too the woods and then back, just to go back and drag out my deer 😂

Terribly warm. Terribly windy. But I just saw way too much action last night to pass up hunting again tonight. I moved into a ground blind that is more favorable with this wind, hoping the decoy will keep their attention enough away from me. This is more of a gun spot but we’ll see what happens

Luck has not been on my side lately. I fell about a week ago and really wrenched my ankle. Wasn’t sure how long it would be before I would be able to hunt again. Walking even with my walking stick was painful, no broken bones at least. My hunting buddy knew how much I wanted to hunt and came up with a plan. He moved the fence that hides my tractor from 25 yards away to within feet of my stand. I used this setup Sunday and Monday with no ill effects. I was able to get back in the game. My stand faces west and all deer approach from the north or southwest. My camera card tells me the deer didn’t seem to mind the change he made for me. So l’m back in the hunt. Here is a view from the south and another from the west. Tractor is well hidden from any deer that passes through my shooting zone.
That's a good friend right there.

I bet something will happen right before dark tonight. Good luck Jim!
You nailed it. Nothing moved until the last 10 minutes of shooting time. I saw the two bucks I expected to see, both holding tight to a group of does. I made up my mind to let both of them go for this season. So tonight I bailed and I’m hunting a different parcel. Probably won’t hunt my place again until this weather straightens back out on Friday or Saturday.
