    Marine, fellow bowhunter in need

Hey gang - maybe Jesse or Joe want to move this to the temporary threads but I couldn’t post there. But this guy loves bowhunting with his daughter. I met Joel and his family in TX at our jiu jitsu gym. He is our kind of people and moved here for those very reasons, looking to raise in family...

    Beast Gear Hang-on

Anyone using this? Expensive, but seems the hit all of the notes of justification for the price. The mobile setup for a variety of heights and tree types is becoming more logical for me and I’m never going to a saddle.

Where do you keep your rangefinder?

Pocket? Hand muff? Retractable tether? If so, where? Factory lanyard on a hanger? I don’t use mine much in the midwest so used to ranging some reference points and putting it on a hanger or in a pocket. Considering a retractable tether this year due to some western hunting in different terrain...

Arrow mods - 556gr Maxima Triad

Finally giving my arrow selection the attention it deserves after servicing my bow and dialing up the poundage this year. Had a few 400 spine easton aftermaths left and they just aren’t consistent. After putting the slowmo camera up, I saw what a disaster these are at 72lbs and immediately went...

Live from KS, TX and OK

Hey all - I had to go dark for a bit due to some unexpected career stuff and a move out of OH to TX. All positive changes. But I read daily and fend off the texts from @giles. Now that the dust has settled I will contribute more and catch up on the podcast series. My food probably won’t be as...

    ID this track,

For reference, size 13 goofy boot and the snow was not melting. Would I refuse to believe it is a coyote - way too big. Too big to be a bobcat I’m guessing. Thoughts?

    Donnie Baker

Just wanted to share my step dad’s youtube channel with you all. Mostly life lessons, stories of old times and testimonials. Feel free to share your favorites or any other deep spiritual content back in this thread for all to benefit from. Biggest takeaway from this one is they always say get...

    Yet another gift from China

Ok, Greater Asia. Deadly hornets from Asia that measure up to 2 inches long have been found for the first time in the U.S., with researchers worried that the insects are colonizing, the New York Post reported Saturday. In Japan, the hornets kill up to 50 people a year...

    ATV disc

Looking at the King Kutter 4 Foot ATV Compact Disc Notched Blades 14-14 vs the Tarter 36”. For a 100 yard wide field the 4 footer would save me 8.33 passes. Anyone have experience with the wider discs behind atvs or utvs and how the weight distribution impacts effectiveness...

    ID this carcass - Hog?

So I dismissed this as an angus that got cornered by coyotes in a thick patch of multiflora rose. Fast forward a month and I take a ride back with my oldest daughter and we see what appears to be an upper jaw with teeth and tusks nibbles down by critters. Looks like a black hog to me. Thoughts?

    Water holes

Anyone bury tubs for water? If so, how big and where? I’m planning to bury a 100gal tank and am debating on burying between dry bedding and main food source or burying in a ditch that sometimes has water in hopes is will fill naturally. Any thoughts are welcomed! Proximity to food, minerals...

    Coyote trapping dates

I’m having a hard time understanding yote trapping dates/regs in OH. They show up under hunting season dates and bag limits but are omitted from the trapping dates. Can someone clarify or point me to the right section of the regs? Thanks!

    Petition to increase non-resident costs

Just ran across this - looks like it has just been posted and doesn’t have much traction yet. Interested in your thoughts. They make a good point about quality deer and willingness to pay. I used to live in CO where it is becoming a rich man’s game. Not sure how I feel about this yet...

    Mountain Lion sighting

I know this aint worth much without the photo, but I saw a legit trail cam pic of a big cat in Cambridge today. I reserve a special kind of F that for this revelation. Bobcats are manageable, but cougars? C’mon God, what are we doing here in OH, we had a good thing goin’. Anyone else ever have a...

    Temp drop

Big swings in NEO from todays high to night time lows ~30 degrees difference, similar for Saturday night. Anyone going out tomorrow or Saturday morning? Considering. But I usually don’t hunt until late October.
